Review: Works Great - I have used these antennas on my truck and our CERT Communications trailer. They have great SWR for both 2 meter and 70 centimeter. Review: Years of usage - I've installed several copies of the SBB-5NMO antenna. I've had one on the roof of my pickup truck for about a decade. Even with some abuse in parking garages, the antenna works well for both transmission and reception. This past year, I installed one on the roof of a short school bus that I'm converting to a camper. Great signal reports from other folks and good reception, too. I've used the antenna with a Kenwood TM-D710 and a Radiodity DB-25. The antenna did well with both radios. ## Features - The Comet SBB-5NMO Dual-Band Mobile Antenna is designed for 2 m (144–148 MHz) and 70 cm (430–450 MHz) amateur bands, providing efficient wide-band coverage for mobile or base installations without signal loss. - Delivers superior gain performance with 3.0 dBi on VHF and 5.5 dBi on UHF, optimizing both transmit and receive range for clear communication in vehicles, base stations, or emergency-response setups. - Built with a precision-engineered NMO-type mount, the SBB-5NMO ensures secure connection and compatibility with a wide range of NMO magnetic, trunk, or roof bases, offering flexible mounting solutions. - Constructed from high-strength stainless-steel whip and durable fiberglass, this antenna resists wind, vibration, and UV exposure, maintaining peak electrical performance even in demanding mobile conditions. - Compact yet powerful, the SBB-5NMO supports up to 200 W PEP power handling and measures approximately 38 inches in total length, making it ideal for amateur operators seeking a balance of low profile and high gain. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00QJ27OY8 | | Antenna | Dual-Band Mobile Antenna | | AntennaDescription | Dual-Band Mobile Antenna | | Best Sellers Rank | #177 in Radio Antennas | | Brand | COMET INDUSTRIES | | Color | black | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 92 Reviews | | Impedance | 50 ohm | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 38"L x 2.5"W x 3"H | | Manufacturer | Comet | | Maximum Range | 2 meters | | Mfr Part Number | SBB-5NMO | | Model Number | SBB-5NMO | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product Dimensions | 38"L x 2.5"W x 3"H | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Antenna:** Dual-Band Mobile Antenna - **Brand:** COMET INDUSTRIES - **Color:** black - **Impedance:** 50 Ohms - **Manufacturer:** Comet - **Maximum Range:** 2 Meters - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Number of Packs:** 1 - **Product Dimensions:** 38"L x 2.5"W x 3"H - **Unit Count:** 1.0 Count ## Images ![Comet SBB-5NMO Dual-Band 2M/70cm Mobile Antenna 146/446 MHz NMO Mount 3 dBi Gain 200 W PEP VHF/UHF Ham Radio Antenna for Cars, Trucks, and Base Use - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41vXtzgj+WL.jpg) ![Comet SBB-5NMO Dual-Band 2M/70cm Mobile Antenna 146/446 MHz NMO Mount 3 dBi Gain 200 W PEP VHF/UHF Ham Radio Antenna for Cars, Trucks, and Base Use - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61LpR-D7aEL.jpg) ![Comet SBB-5NMO Dual-Band 2M/70cm Mobile Antenna 146/446 MHz NMO Mount 3 dBi Gain 200 W PEP VHF/UHF Ham Radio Antenna for Cars, Trucks, and Base Use - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51duNloUR6L.jpg) ![Comet SBB-5NMO Dual-Band 2M/70cm Mobile Antenna 146/446 MHz NMO Mount 3 dBi Gain 200 W PEP VHF/UHF Ham Radio Antenna for Cars, Trucks, and Base Use - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31DfYrr+KhL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Nmo conection** A: Yes, it is a NMO Connection. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Great *by R***M on October 4, 2026* I have used these antennas on my truck and our CERT Communications trailer.
