GemOro UltraTester 3+ Diamond Tester | Test Diamond, Moissanite, White Sapphire Gemstone | Precision Tool with Expert Professional Reading & Accuracy

I replaced an outdated diamond tester with this and I love it!! You need to read and follow the instructions carefully before you start. It takes a little practice to hold/use the tester correctly to get an accurate reading. It becomes easy and fun to use once you get the hang of it. Other testers I have tried before detected moissanites as diamonds. I picked this Gemoro tester for its reliability in distinguishing the two.

I tested a ring that I know isn't real and yet it said it is, it reads every stone I've tested as a real diamond! Even colored stones.

I used this tester for all applicable vintage and designer jewelry. The tester always correctly identified the diamonds and sapphires.This time it detected moissanite on what was sold to me as one carat diamond incrusted earrings. I was able to return the jewelry and saved a lot of money.

The GemOro UltraTester 3+ works well for testing natural diamonds, moissanite, and white sapphires with precision. However, I’ve noticed it struggles with lab-made diamonds, consistently showing them as moissanite. While it's a reliable tool for natural stones, keep in mind that it might not provide accurate readings for lab-grown gems. Overall, it’s useful but limited in this regard.

Accurate and easy to use.

I purchased the GemOro UltraTester II Diamond and Moissanite Tester and the Presidium Multi Tester Iii at the same time. I then tested diamond rings, loose diamonds, and the moissanite stones I keep for testing. the GemOre Ultra tester II detected the Moissanite every time but the Presidium Multi Tester 9 times out of 10 showed false. I recommend this tester (GemOro UltraTester II Diamond and Moissanite Tester) As with all of these testers you MUST be very careful when testing because the small wire tip can be easily bent or damaged but if you are careful it will last.April 2018 and I must down grade this from 5 to 1 stars. sent 2 1ct. stones to GIA for grading that this machine tested as diamond over and over and they were returned by GIA as Moissanite.. Then I found out that there are now more improved types of Moissanite. I have now purchased "SAM by Presidium, Diamond Tester and Identify a Wider Range of Moissanites" from Amazon and low and behold it had no trouble identifing those stones as Moissanite.

It does work but it's not reliable. One of the diamond it show reading for both moissanite and diamond. We still have to bring it in to the shop.
