I thought this was the type of job they were made for as their title says they are -- I was horribly wrong.These cups are not fully smooth. When you lock them on, as a result, they do not maintain suction. One was giving me more trouble locking than the other, but if I worked with haste, they were sufficient to remove the glass from the iMac. After completing the installation of the hard drive, I reapplied the cups to be sure they were as secure as possible. upon lifting the glass to place it back in its place, one cup lost suction and the glass began to fall suddenly. The action, just from gravity, was enough to also disconnect the second cup. The glass screen fell to my work table and shattered everywhere. I was left holding a suction cup in each hand, looking down at the complete destruction of the glass screen and a very dangerous mess to clean up.I WOULD NOT recommend anyone purchase these cups for lifting / moving any type of glass. They may function ok for smooth plastic, but they are NOT reliable for glass products. I now have to find a replacement glass piece for about $150, all because these poor little suction cups could not do their job.If preforming the same task I describe above, I would recommend going for these cups instead -https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Parts/Heavy-Duty-Suction-Cups-Pair/IF145-023-2They are more expensive and wont ship as fast as from Amazon, but they will save you a sharp $150 headache and be totally worth it.These are the worst product I have ever purchased on Amazon. ### ⭐⭐ Almost dropped my iMac Screen (1 of 2 Defective) *by C***G on Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2014* I need two suction cups to fix my 2008 iMac. Followed the direction (yes it has directions) by making the suction damp. Placed the suction cup on the screen and press handles together. Felt like a solid suction, so I pulled the screen out, with no issue. Then, all of the sudden, one of the suction cups gave way. Scared the heck out of me! Luckily the other suction cup had a strong hold and the screen is not very heavy. I would have been very mad if my screen shattered on my lament flooring. Needless to say, I was able to complete my fix and return the screen with only one suction cup.I looked really close at the defective suction cup and I can't seem to figure out what could be causing the lost of suction. Although one worked and I was able to fix my iMac, I am still returning it. I will eventually need to buy another pair (I want to upgrade to blue ray one day, just to do it) but I might try a different brand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Looking to pull the glass off your iMac? If that's the case, then yes, these are what you need. The work well and do the job, allowing you to easily lift the glass screen cover off your iMac without dropping it.
