I don't like romantic movies but after seeing him as Ratan Singh in Padmaavat, I had to know what his modern acting skills were like. I must say, this movie was the sweetest movie I have ever seen. I am so unlike the female lead character and although it is fiction, it was nice to see a story of how they fell in love WITHOUT there being a human antagonist in the story to keep them apart. The familial love was refreshing to see too, I don't know if families or even people like this truly exist, but the two families wanted the lovebirds to succeed in every way possible. I just can't say that I left this movie feeling lighthearted and refreshed enough! Yes, it is a long watch, but it is important to the story! The songs in this movie definitely had me wishing I could sing in Hindi. If you want to feel good after watching a movie, this one is it!!! Review: My Daughter really enjoys this movie! - (She's writing this review.) The roof top scene and song was sooo sad, as it was the main protagonists last day together before they head back home! Just seeing them all innocent, FINALLY talking to each other was bittersweet. And because of this, I. was. ab.so.lut.ely BALLING! Lastly, it's such a shame that self-sacrifice is the wake up call to some people to treat others nicely.
