Pyropac is the provider of US military general issue MRE heating gel. Trioxane is easy to ignite, and easy to manage unlike white gas. And it's lighter and easier to store than solid fuel. And unlike solid fuel, it doesn't smell. It's water soluble and non-toxic. It was designed to heat food rations. It will heat a canteen cup of water 100 in 8min. But it's also a great fire starter because it will light in storm conditions. Pack of 3.

Works OK. Doesn't seem to burn as hot and may take 2 packets to boil a canteen cup of water if using to purify water. If just heating MRE's in water one will do. Expect to use whole packet.
