This is one of the best home-improvement projects there is for $30. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rugged gate latch, that closes and opens beautifully *by C***M on November 29, 2019* I had to replace the poorly-designed latch that I got at a box store-- you know the latches that require you to slam the gate to close it, if it closes at all. Then you need to drill a hole through the post and run a cable if you want to open the gate from the outside. This latch is sturdy and well-designed. Installation was super easy, although I only had about 1/2" clearance between the post and the gate. I just planed down the 4X4 post about 3/8" to make sure this wider latch would fit (see picture).
