Why pay more at a chain drug store?
The price of these test strips is great! they are as accurate as any I have had, often paying three times more. The ones I got were packaged for Britain/The EU but that makes no difference. Don't be put off by it. Products meant to be sold in the US just get a huge markup. Pharmaceutical companies charge Americans more for everything, so why not buy the EXACT same item on Amazon, for a far, far better price? I will be buying these again.

Good value but I've learned to check each lot.
I've tried two of these boxes of strips now. The first one (lot) I got was quite inaccurate. The second one (lot) I got was excellent. With the first one, my readings were exceptionally good, about 10 point lower on average than what I normally get. Being new to testing, this made me happy, but then all my readings today were looking too good to be true. I got my testing solution out and this batch of strips was/is inaccurate. I tested about 12 of them against the test solution, getting readings like 90, 91, 93, 90, 94, and even 118. These values are technically within specs allowed in the industry (+- 20%), but I'd not yet had a batch that is inaccurate like this. Second batch was right on the money, though. I corresponded with both sellers I've received batches from (Grace and Diabetes Health Supplies). Both companies were SUPER helpful and clear about test trips, accuracy rates, a prior large recall by Abbot, etc. I'm impressed with both sellers of this product that I've received lots from. By the way, the Freestyle Lite strips in these boxes are marked not for retail: DHS says is merely because they are not bar-coded for retail sale but they are otherwise the same strips. They appear to me to be just like ones you buy in the store.Moral of the story: If you are working on tight control and testing of GL levels, it seems really important to test a new batch of strips when you get one with the solution Abbot makes. I gather that they are allowed to be pretty inaccurate in terms of measurement accuracy. After all, the bottles give a range of 74 to 114 or so for accuracy with the test solution. If a batch being off 10 points or so matters to how you are testing, I think it's pretty important to test a few strips from a batch you get before using them.I'd give 5 stars to the sellers (Grace and Diabetes Health Supplies) but I'd give Abbot 4 stars for not having tighter control of some batches of strips.

These are the real deal ...
Received the next day after ordering. Just paid $102 at the pharmacy for 50 strips so I decided to look online for these strips. These are identical and have an expiration date in 2021 for a fraction of the cost at the pharmacy. Will buy again for sure.

DEFECTIVE STRIPS
After trying 3-4 test strips, they did not work with my Freestyle meter. The meter went on when the strip was inserted, but did not give any type of reading on the screen, not even an "error" message. I changed the battery in case that was the problem, but the strips still did not work. I was giving an ample blood sample, so that wasn't the problem either. Had to send them back, and re-ordered Freestyle strips again on Amazon with another supplier. I would not recommend ordering these if your meter is not brand new.

Great strips and meters.
Great price on this product! Using it with both the Freestyle Lite AND the Freestyle Freedom Lite blood glucose monitors. It works with both. Love that these strips require very miniscule amounts of blood to get a reading, unlike previous strips/meters I have used. Got the meter free for asking at my local pharmacy. They weren't on display, but I called to see if they would honor a coupon I had for another free meter. They didn't have that particular brand, but offered the Freestyle Freedom Lite instead. Hope that tip helps someone out. Doesn't hurt to ask. Even if you have a meter, but run out of strips and can't afford more for a few days, a free meter usually has 10-20 new strips and allows you to experiment with meter options.

Excellent product, but so over priced
At the time of purchase these were about 20+ dollars, now they have doubled in price. I love the freestyle lite strips, but the price is an absolute rip off. I've gone with the cheaper brands, but you get all kinds of readings with those. Another thing, sometimes you get a test strip and it shows an error, That is almost 1.00 that goes in the trash each time that happens and of course on the box it says "not for resale", however having said that, my local Pharmacist had these and sold me these "not for resale" Freestyle strips" the last time. The best thing to do is to get your doctor to write you a prescription to get the best deal, if you have insurance so you can get a better price.

Excellent brand of test strips at a very competitive price
These are the same excellent brand of test strips from Abbott laboratories that can be purchased at a pharmacy or through a prescription drug service, and they work equally well. Likewise, the test strips I received had an expiration date that was at least a year into the future, so no concerns about their becoming out-of-date before they are used up.The medical insurance provider we have no longer covers the excellent Freestyle Lite brand of test strips under our policy, and one of the distinct advantages of this brand is that it only requires a very tiny blood sample to get a reliable blood sugar reading. Thus, rather than switch to an inferior brand, I decided to shop elsewhere for these test strips on my own and found excellent pricing on Amazon. When I compared pricing with my prescription drug service and a major pharmacy chain, these strips were noticeably less expensive.

Defective Strips?, maybe not.
This is the third bottle of these strips I bought. In the previous two bottles the vast majority of strips worked. In this bottle 22 strips produced only error readings. I'm pretty certain the meter is okay so the strips must have been defective! That's poor QC on the part of Abbott, My advice: don't buy the strips, if you have a freestyle lite meter remove the battery and throw the meter away.Feb 2015: I recently acquired more strips. I used to test fingers or arm. Now I'm testingpalms. The meter and strips are now working well. Keep the meter.
