Cooking for Friends - Kindle edition by Ramsay, Gordon. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading Cooking for Friends. Review: Best of the Best - I have always loved Gordon Ramsay on television. I have not always felt his cookbooks translate well to American cooking. This one does though. I not only loved the recipes and the organization of the book (by course type and protein type mostly) but the photos and the commentary are also great. The book pulled me in from the cover and kept me enraptured all the way to the index. Duck with Port wine and cherry sauce, Pear Frangipane are both on my immediate must try list. Casual enough for everyday cooking and elegant enough for any special occasion, this is going to be my go to Gordon Ramsay cookbook. One caveat: make sure you read the cook's notes in the beginning. If you don't have a convection oven, all temperatures should be set 25 degrees higher than the recipe calls for. Review: Exactly what I wanted! - I have loved Gordon Ramsay for a long time. I decided I wanted to make dinner for my friends on Friday nights. When I saw the title, I knew it would be perfect. The recipes have varying degrees of difficulty so I was able to ease into it. I highly recommend! Try the Almond Coffee Crumb Cake first - it's delicious!

Simple but good recipes
The reason why I like Gordon Ramsay's books is that his recipes are easy to make, but are made from the secrets used in his restaurants. Cooking for Friends (in England it's called the Ultimate Cookery Course) has lots of easy and good recipes that can be used to entertain friends.

Excellent!
Not a book for the beginner cook! I do fine the recipes easy to follow, but I would say this book is more for the cooking-lover. A few ingredients are more difficult to source but they are all delicious that I've tried so far! I highly recommend it for anyone that loves cooking and is looking for a challenge

Not an essential book unless you are a raving Ramsay fan
These are the dishes Ramsay cooks when he's at home. Some of them are good but most of them are things I wouldn't bother to cook, myself. Either I can't get the ingredients or they are overly complex. His shepherd's pie is nice, even though we can't get lamb, and we can get Branston pickle, which I sometimes have in the fridge (it's great with a lunch of cheese, bread and apples. Cheddar cheese, that is.) The pickle is a sort of molasses-sweet-and-sour dice of turnips and onions but it's very strong and flavorful. You can sub in chutney, which is exactly what I use in some chopped meat curries like Keema. I've made the duck with port and cherries before (be sure you do NOT overcook the duck breasts. If someone demands well done, make something else. Seriously.) Otherwise, this book is only for Ramsay fans and not really an essential cookbook. The Kindle book is annoying--hard to navigate and not indexed. A serious flaw.

Ramsay sets out to create a cookbook worthy of social, family cooking where the process is almost as important as the result - and succeeds. Recipes which are well suited to sharing with those who don't cook much or at all, which aren't hurried and which will forgive the odd oversight here and there when you've forgotten about them temporarily while opening another bottle of red rub shoulders easily with quick, easy and impressive starters, soups, snacks and meals. Nowhere here will you see directions to cut one ingredient macédoine, another paysanne and yet another brunoise... it's all about the sheer enjoyment of spending time in the kitchen and such culinary precision takes a deserved (but surprising, given his pedigree) back seat to fun. If you're looking to enjoy a sociable afternoon with friends & family creating a meal you can all enjoy, this is the perfect book for you.

Just what I was looking for. Simple, wholesome, honest, down-to-earth food, and a style of writing and presentation that goes perfectly with it. The book is in excellent condition, and even contained a note from the previous owner, thanking the p)erson who had sent it as a present! The packaging was excellent, and the item was delivered personally before the deadline. Thank you, amazon!

Secondo me, il rapporto qualità/prezzo é buono.
