The parents are actually present
Scary book. Top notch. And the parents are actually. . . parents in this book.

Epic and timeless (2000 to 2021!)
Awesome read! I read this story first at age 10.I've just gotten the Kindle edition and I can say at age 31, The First Horror by RL Stine, chilled me to the bone.Just as it did with my childhood self. 10 out of 10. '5 stars' does it little justice.

A solid first entry to a solid trilogy.
I'm currently in my 30's, and on a bit of a nostalgia trip. I found a bunch of these old Fear Street books available for Kindle, and figured why not? Fear Street was nearly the only thing I read for pleasure in 4th and 5th grade, and I read a lot (lucky for me that Mr. Stine wrote them so quickly). Lots of memories to mine from here.I'd like to emphasize that I was a Fear Street kid, not a Goosebumps fan. As a child, I liked the teenage characters. They weren't adults, but they seemed just older enough than me that I believed they could be capable protagonists. I also loved that all (eh, most) of Fear Street takes place in a single, evolving location. The town of Shadyside and its infamous street grow more vivid as you read more books and gather more lore. I also liked that the characters seemed to act a lot more believable, for the most part, than the characters in Goosebumps. While every other kid toted around and talked Goosebumps, I was the one rocking Fear Street. I wouldn't change that. Good times. The First Horror held up surprisingly well during my adult read. I'll spare you the plot details, since Amazon already provides a good idea of what the book is about. The prose isn't the greatest, but for 90's Young Adult horror fiction, it's perfectly serviceable. There is a decent amount of gore and a surprising body count. This book (and trilogy) explore the more supernatural side of Fear Street. If you're a kid just starting to read genre fiction, you can't go wrong with The First Horror. Now, on to The Second Horror...

Great book
I've loved the fear street books since I was fifteen years old.. And until now hadn't thought of them or seen any for at least 20 years. I'm so happy to reread some old favorites. 🙂

Es geht besser, aber..
Ich habe schon wesentlich bessere Bücher aus dieser Reihe gelesen, aber ich muss zugeben, dass ich mich trotzdem sehr gegruselt habe und darum geht es 😀
