Superior build quality. Solid like you’d expect from a Segway
Brilliant in every way. Well made, solid and great design. I haven’t tested the battery life yet, but will once the weather improves. I’ve no doubt it will impress. The only downside is that it’s heavy to carry - but who needs to carry it, right?

I really wanted to like this scooter!
I purchased this scooter after reading the great reviews on the ES4 (only 4 so far) and the not so great reviews on the ES2. Unfortunately the bad reviews of the ES2 have come true on the dual battery ES4. After I received this, I was pleased with the packaging and the quality of the frame. I charged it up fully and downloaded the latest firmware update then started my first ride on flat even ground.. All good! I was getting good power and long range with the dual batteries. It even had good power going up hills. It wasn't until I turned on the headlight as it started getting dark one evening that I knew something was wrong. The power dropped to hardly nothing. This was still after I had 5 bars on my power level meter. As soon as I turned the headlight off, all was fine again. This only happened after the scooter had a bit more power required to go up a hill. I previously had the headlight turned on and it was running fine as long I was riding on a flat surface. Now, the power drops even on flat surfaces. I did some investigating on this issue and I found it is a widespread and a very common problem, especially for people who have added the external battery to their ES2 (the only difference between an ES2 and ES4 is the external battery). There are many references online detailing the issues with this product. Apparently, something burns out on the motherboard when the scooter requires more power going up hills while turning on the headlight. I have to say I am very disappointed because this scooter has all the features I was looking for as well as having good distance range. Fortunately I purchased this on Amazon Prime and will be able to return it. Hopefully this is something that Ninebot will address. I hope this helps anyone else that is interested in purchasing this e-scooter.

Don’t wreck it
After riding Lime and Bird scooters for a weekend in Long Beach, Ca I just had to have one. I originally purchased one for about $500 from amazon. It was just like the Bird, but the battery only lasted maybe 2 miles. I returned and bought the Ninebot E4. It's so freakin amazing! My partner and I both bought one and can't stop riding. They're FAST and a kick in the ass to ride. Lights on bottom, front, back, and sides. So you're very visible at night. I rode it 8 miles the other night at full speed,19mph, and still had 54% battery life left. I weigh 145lbs. Its a nice scooter. If your're going to buy one don;t cheap out. Go for the E4 with extra battery and power. You won;t be sorry.UPDATE: After a small crash (not my fault) on my scooter. Brake throttle is messed up and scooter will not operate. Been on the phone back and forth with factory and repair services. Seems like no one wants to or even had the means to fix these. I have a request into a 3rd party repair facility. They acted like I was a bother and made me fill out a request to repair online before they’ll even look at it. At the end of the day i ended up finding a new one in amazing for $300 cheaper than what u paid originally and bought a new one

Fun way to commute while reducing your ecological footprint!
I fell in love with eScooters while riding Limes and Birds to work in Paris. It was way more pleasant than the subway. So I decided to get my own! First I received a faulty scooter that died within 5 days... But both Amazon and Ninebot US handled the situation very well and I quickly got a new working scooter. I use the ES 4 to go to school and go shopping in the stores near my home. Riding an eScooter is a great way to both enjoy commuting and take action against pollution!

The hype is true
I absolutely love this scooter. I ride the ferry into San Francisco for work everyday, and kept seeing more and more electric scooters on my commute into the city. I knew I needed to join the club. I did research online and this scooter rose to the top, mostly because of the extra battery pack and Segway is a trusted brand. The extra battery pack is completely worth it. I weigh 155, can can get up to 26mph. Charging takes about 4-5 hours. I love how it folds away easily.

Sturdy and Sleek
I purchased the ES4 to use on my morning commute to work and have been loving it. It's a thrill to ride and has a solid construction, making it feel safe to ride.BuildThe ES4 is built using solid materials, and it feels like it can take a reasonable bit of beating. The tires are thick and balanced, and the body is made with thick metal. It has a bit of weight to it, especially with the external battery attached, but in this case I consider it a sign of its durability. Though clearly not your off-road vehicle, it's great for urban/suburban transportation.Ride QualityThe ES4 rides very smooth, and can accelerate and brake very smoothly and quickly. I typically keep it on Standard for my ride to work, but when I hit long stretches of empty road, I like kicking it up to Sport for a bit. It handles well over small bumps, and is nimble enough to avoid larger path obstructions.Daily Use and PortabilityAs mentioned earlier, the scooter is a little on the heavier side. It's not meant to be carried around over longer distances, but isn't so heavy that you can't lift it to move it around when needed. When I take mine on the bus, for example, I have no problem folding it up to stow away either beneath the bus or in the overhead compartment if there's space. The wall charger is light enough to bring around, though with the additional battery attached, it lasts my daily commute, and I just plug it into the wall when I get home.Overall Value and RecommendationsThe headlights, bottom lights, and rear lights make it clearly visible at night, which is a huge plus. The regenerative braking (restores power when not accelerating) option makes it feel very high tech, though I haven't measured its effectiveness. All in all, I feel like the scooter provides a lot of value for the price, though I'd definitely recommend picking up a helmet to use with this.
