Awesome
It's hard to believe that this is the same person who started circle of dust! Celldweller has come a long, long way! He has simply gotten better! No longer do we have to listen to repetition, weak beats and a drowned out voice. Klayton, the backbone of Celldweller, has changed everything, from the music to the vocals to the overall perspective of what we are acustomed to with his previous efforts(circle of dust). This album is amazing! He actually sings(and sings well) with so much passion! He's not redundent. The music changes so often with every song and I find that to be so refreshing because it happens to be a rarity in music today. I am the kind of person that is always looking for the next best new artist every day and I follow all of the reviews made by a lot of the critics on amazon.com, however, I am disappointed constantly. I followed some reviews for this album and took a chance and am so glad I did! For once they got one right. I cannot find myself to take this disc out of my CD player. It's addicting. If it just so happens that Klayton happens to lose listeners for the direction that he took with this album, so be it. At least we can say that the quality of listeners will pick up. His new stuff is intelligent and breakthrough. I can honestly say that I'm grateful that I picked up his latest album and so are my friends and family. If I were to make any kind of comparison to other groups out there in the biz, I would have to say that celldweller is a mix of Nine Inch Nails and Razed In Black.

Pure Genius, Must Have For Any EBM Collection
A must-have for any industrial DJ or music aficionado. The blend of nu-metal riffs, harsh industrial, and trance leads is a beautiful syzygy. This album should not be this good, considering that it's largely the work of a single human being; nor should it be this good considering the laughably low price. One of the best albums I've bought this year. I'm currently looking at the remix album to complement this one.The best track on here is, in my opinion, The Last Firstborn. This was the track that put Celldweller on my radar in the first place. If you like EBM and industrial with a pinch of trance and metal thrown in (e.g., Apoptygma Berzerk), this is an album that deserves to be in your collection.

Exceeded my expectations
I'm relatively new to the industrial-ish scene and didn't know what to expect from this CD. I had heard "Switchback" and "The Last Firstborn" and *loved* them but I'm almost always cautious of other tracks that I haven't heard yet on albums I buy. To my pleasure I found out that my caution was unnecessary. I enjoy pretty much all of the tracks on this CD. My favorites remain as Switchback and The Last Firstborn but I discovered I really liked "Frozen." My recommendation? If you liked Switchback, The Last Firstborn, or "One Good Reason" (all of which you can hear on Pandora) then I feel you'll like this album.

Lean back, let it take you
I had heard Celldweller a lot on Pandora, and I had assumed for a long time that the two songs I had heard by them were the end. I was wrong. EVERY SINGLE SONG on this album is awesome! Whether you are looking for some awesome industrial to dance to or just want to sprawl and listen to something naughty, it's the best thing ever. My new favorite! Angry, sexy, and unstoppable. Be careful you don't get addicted.

Worth the buy.
While Klayton wanders between melancholy complain-scapes and bowel-shaking rockers, the three or four rockers on each of his song-oriented albums (Celldweller and Wish Upon A Blackstar) are worth the purchase prices of the whole things, even if you don't go for the lighter stuff. On this record, Switchback and Last Firstborn alone are worth the seven bucks. Crank 'em up and take whatever else you like as a bonus.

A memorable auditory experience
This is a beautiful debut album for Celldweller. I find it difficult to put Klayton's music into one specific genre. Even more difficult, is to believe that this was a one-man project. At some points it's relentless alternative rock, at other points it's hushed and poignant ambient and then other times I found myself grooving to some SWEET trance/techno.All in all, it's a really lovely compilation from a very talented musician. I look forward to listening to his upcoming sophomore album.

Best CD ever!
Well this was just amazing. I grew up loving electronica and trance music. Then when I became a teenager I loved hard rock and heavy metal. Then one day I discovered Celldweller. A mastermind brillant music maker Klayton, infuseing electronia with hard rock. Heaven to your ears. All the tracks are great. I couldnt find a track that I didnt like. Even the intro tracks are awesome!

Electronic Done Correctly
Classic album! Electronic music is a tricky thing. It does not always age well. But, this album still sounds fresh. The combination of rock, metal, symphonic, and other elements help it to do so. There's enough hooks and catchy beats to keep these songs in your head for a long time. Like over 10 years long...
