Ok Starter Quinto
Feels premium for the price point. But once you play it for a week, I started noticing that I kept having to tune it constantly throughout my play time. It would especially need to be retunned every morning when I wanted to play. After 3 weeks, the guitar has lost the deep sound it was producing. I am sure it's just the strings, but I didn't expect to have to resting after 4 weeks of playing. I think a fair price would of been $400.

Good beginner instrument
This is a good beginner. This has some pros and cons you should take note of and I'll lits them hereStarting with cons. the bridge, It's thinner compared to other bajo quintos. What does this mean. You are going to struggle when putting strings with a loop end. If you don't know, a lot of bajo quinto strings come with loop end and only a handfull of companies have started to produce ball end. This means since it's a thinner bridge, you are going to have to bend that string more than usual and if not done right, you will struggle with the tuning of the instrument. It also does not help that this has a square bridge instead of the traditional rounded bridge that most quintos have. Due to this I would say loop ends are out of the picture unless you want to spend more time then you should changing them out. Another thing is the tuning mechanism. It's not that great and it will fall out of tune often. I've had to tune almost every time I pick it up. It's super rough and difficult to keep in tune. I've had some cases to were I've been mid show I've had to tune mid show. The tuner/pick up is not meant for a bajo quinto. You don't get the big beefy sound from the low ends and your mids to highs almost sound like a guitar. You can't turn it up to much either because then you will start to get feed back. If you are serious about playing live and getting the best sound possible, you we'll need to have a better pick up, one ment for bajo quintos. Now the pros. The neck is super comfortable. It's super slim and fits comfortably in your hand which makes playing for a long time possible with out getting hand cramps. This has a trust rod which is what makes it possible to adjust and made slim. This is a huge plus, so much so that when ever I'm in the market to buy another quinto, I compare it to this. If you are just starting to play quinto, this make it super easy to learn. The action is to high compared to others but it's not low compared to a pro quinto. Adjusting the trust rod might help but I haven't missed with it.Durability is great. My kid has ran past this thing and dropped it in hard wooden floor several times and it has not cracked or lost the sound. It's a good option if you just want something to have at home and not have that fear of it breaking. In conclusion, if you are just starting out and want to learn this a decent option. Keep in mind this is still an instrument made in China some you might not get the same quality instrument I got. If you are serious about playing this instrument then this is not for you. You are better of getting in contact with a company in Mexico and have one hand-made instead. This is an American take on a Mexican instrument made in China. As mentioned before, you will struggle with loop end string so my recommendation is to stick to ball end. Sonora has some great bronze/steel ball end strings that sound amazing.
