Okay so I just received this and thought I would try it immediately. It didn't come in any sort of plastic wrapping, and when I opened it it wasn't sealed with anything covering the product which is kind of weird but oh well . I tried it and I read other comments of a grainy texture but mine has no grit at all just a soft oil . (kind of like a thicker coconut oil.) While it says to rub all over face and rinse with warm water and pat dry (which I did) it left my face with a slight oily feel so I used my face wash to get it off and my skin then felt clean and extremely soft! This stuff is amazing to remove all makeup and the scent is very mild (peanut oil smell) I would only use this at night because it made my eye lashes kinda oily and made my eyes kinda blurry from rubbing it on my eyes . so if you have tough makeup to remove this is perfect! This will be great for removing Halloween make up to .However, if you hardly wear makeup I think this is not a product I would use for that unless you wear foundation . Im giving it a 5 + because it works so well and it's a cheaper version of clinique face balm makeup remover which is 30 bucks!

It gets my makeup off, including my waterproof mascara, but the smell is not pleasant. I’ve used it a couple of times so I have to keep it at this point but I likely won’t repurchase because of the smell.

The smell on this is strrooong, and it seems to irritate my eyes even though I am careful to keep it away from my eye area as per the warning on the label.It also is the first balm that I have tried that seems gritty.

I wanted to find a replacement for Palmer's Cleansing oil. I should not have tried this product. All the ingredients are wonderful and moisturizing. However, once warmed in your hands and turned into an oil, the product is very gritty. Using it on your face, acts as a significant physical exfoliant. The major problem with this product being so gritty and acting as a physical exfoliant is that the product is intended to remove makeup. Exfoliating with makeup on is problematic for so many reasons. Also, physical exfolianting around the eye area (where makeup needs to be removed) is doubly problematic. The smell was'n't a problem. My issue is with the grit. I will happily return to cleansing oil.

I have been looking for a replacement for Emma Hardie cleansing balm...my absolute favorite, but off the charts expensive so out of my reach for regular use. The Emilia facial cleansing balm is the hands-down best I have found, and I have tried many others. This is the ONLY one that I feel cleans really, really well and does not strip my skin or leave it dry-feeling, and has no weird chemical ingredients. The odor of it is pleasant, and I think it is just the natural odors of the oils it is made from...no fragrance is added. I use it on my face to remove makeup and sunscreen, and on my eye area to remove eye makeup as well. No issues there, and my eyes are very sensitive. I will be re-purchasing, for sure. I am so glad to have found a product that I like as well as I did the $60 a jar Emma Hardie. By the way, when you rinse your wash cloth after removing the balm from your face, you can see the makeup rinse out of it...it does not stay in the cloth and stain it. Overall, a great product!

Works at taking makeup off but smells weird. Have to hold your breath when applying it.

The product works fairly well. I just can't handle how bad it smells. I am extremely sensitive to odors. If you can handle the odor then the product might be better for you. It did feel good and removed my urban decay waterproof mascara, which is a test in itself.

This product give me a good allergy, has a mushy odor . Hard to remove from the face.
