7artisans 28mm F1.4 Manual Focus Lens for Leica M Mount Cameras M-M, M240, M3,M5,M6,M7,M8,M9,M9P,M10 (Black)

This lens looks and feels surprisingly like a Leica lens, but for a fraction of the cost of the 28mm Summilux, which is $6,500. as of this writing. The image quality is about 85% too which makes this lens a no brainer if you're looking for this focal length.This is probably 7Artisans best lens so far. They've made many improvements to the build quality and while it's more expensive than prior lenses of theirs, it's worth it for the improvements. The focusing and aperture rings are silky smooth without feeling loose at all. It has an all metal body and what looks like brass inside the rear. You can even adjust the focus on this to match your rangfinder exactly although I did not have to; right out of the box the focus seems spot on, see my picture).I think 7Artisans knocked it out of the part with this lens and despite my overall stigma about 'cheap lens from China', this one is one I can recommend.

This lens is surprisingly well-built and looks more expensive than it is. It matches up perfectly on my M10, including the correct frame lines in the viewfinder. I tested it against an old Vivitar Series One 28mm lens, and I was surprised that it is the equal of the Series One. It looked like the Vivitar had a tiny bit of color fringing, but I couldn't see any on the 7Artisans. This lens feels good, looks good, performs great, and is the right price.

Awesome lens. I mean this thing is a steal. Under $500. 28mm f/1.4. Sharp. Build solid. Smooth aperture and focus ring. I’m impressed. And yes, it’s not a Leica. But who cares. It’s about $5000 less and works great. I think these 7artisans and TTartisans are the real deal. My only complaint is that this lens has a 3M stick on focus piece for your finger to focus. It works fine, but would be better if it was metal like the 35MM f1.4. Otherwise, this is an awesome lens. Beautiful bokeh. Fine wide open. Has CHARACTER.
