Tarter Than Luxardo -- A Refreshing Change
I was a long-time fan of Luxardo cherries but read an article that introduced me to other brands. I decided to give these a try. They are really delicious. They have just a hint of tartness when you bite into them, which I enjoy very much. (I use then to make craft cocktails.) The syrup doesn't have quite as deep a flavor as Luxardo syrup perhaps—more akin to the syrup you'd find in a jar supermarket maraschinos. But all in all, this is a really nice product. The jar is super-cute, too. These cherries would make a nice addition to a homemade gourmet gift basket.

Exceptional taste
This is what I grew up with and frankly there is absolutely no comparison between these and the US concept of "maraschino" cherries. The flavor is extremely intense and true cherry-like rather than candy-like with an ever so slight tang to it. Although created as an ice-cream topping and as such scrumptious, the syrup can be used to make an outstanding panna cotta and perfectly compliments any other sort of vanilla flavored or cream-based dessert. The cherries in themselves are great for danishes or other sorts of fruit topped desserts. They are expensive in the US (and as such I would not use them for cherry pie) but worth every penny. By the way, contrary to popular belief, they do not need refrigeration as long as they are kept between 60 and 85 degrees F.

SO delicious and made great stocking stuffers!
Per the suggestion of Susan Branch's newsletter, I ordered some of these to put into stockings at Christmas. They were a HUGE hit. They taste SO amazing and decadent, and at this price-point, they are a perfect little splurge without breaking the bank. HIGHLY recommend for on ice cream, desserts, in yogurt, plop a couple on the top of a smoothie...yummmo!

Delicious but expensive.
Very flavorful - each cherry packs a huge cherry flavor punch. Tastes like luxurious candy - like a realistic Ludens Cherry throat drop. The bottle is pretty small, and there can't be any more than 15-20 cherries in there (with syrup) making this a pretty expensive buy. I love it though - bought a few extra bottles for family and friends. They use on Ice Cream - I use in drinks.

The small cherries have a very strong almond and liqueur flavor.
These cherries are small, about the size of a large blueberry, but noticeably smaller than the cherries we are used to here in the USA. They are pitted, but have no hollow area within -- it seems they may have gone thru a chemical process to shrink to a more solid consistency (rather than being floppy and hollow as are canned cherries are). The texture upon chewing them is somewhat waxy, but the syrup in which they are canned (jarred) is very sweet, strong (almond) flavored, and alcoholic. The first time I tasted a few cherries on a spoon with the syrup I choked because of the strong alcohol taste. I do not mean to imply that they are not good -- only that they are VERY bold in flavor, and the syrup is very sweet although interestingly the nutrition label indicates only 12 gms of sugar (less sugar than Jello). I saw Lydia make a cherry tart using them (also with cherry preserves and dried cherries) on her cooking show, so was eager to try them. If you love a very bold and powerful intoxicating cherry flavor you will love these. If not, you may want to proceed with caution. I could very much see this syrup being used in drinks, and this product as a topping for ice cream. I purchased the small 8oz container, they are not inexpensive.

Fanciest cherry ive ever had
After seeing them on the Great British baking show I wanted them. I thought the jar was ceramic which was half the attraction, but it’s just a glass jar. Then I tried them. They are delicious. Deep rich sweet with a little tartness. Amazing.

Amarena Cherries Supreme
I thought the Amarena Cherries were great!! I had never heard of, or tasted them before I read a recipe for cherry sorbet in "Dessert Magazine", (an online only magazine), that suggested topping the sorbet with Amarena Cherries. I googeld Amarena Cherries, and up popped "Fabbri Amarena Cherries" on Amazon. com.!! What made the whole deal even better, was that they were on sale!!! I will definetly be buying this product again. The local Italian market carries Amarena Cherries only during the hollidays, so I will be buying them online for the rest of the year. Thank You.Charles M. Burr

Yummy
These are wonderful. I bought them to top a cheesecake, then used them instead of jelly with cream cheese on a bagel. And they are really really good on top of chocolate ice cream. The flavor is very intense, both cherries and syrup, so fortunately they go a long way. A great way to impress guests without effort.
