This book is great. I learned more in the first 10 pages than I knew about the camera having it for almost a year. Great reference guide.

The Canon EOS Rebel T6/1300D for dummies book is a must-have supplement to the Canon EOS Rebel T6/1300D camera. The book has many illustrations and explains the camera operation and capabilities well.The for dummies book gives great explanations for beginners as well as people who have used totally-manual, auto-aperture (built-in light meter) and auto-focus cameras in the past. For beginners, camera basics are explained as well as operation of the Rebel T6. For experienced users, the book builds on the basics and gives explanations about the camera's functions that are easier to grasp and use than the writing in the Canon paper and electronic manuals. The for dummies books tells how to download important software and manuals that one might miss if they just peruse the paper manual (included with the camera).Without the for dummies book, one would need to read the Canon manuals (a bit tedious, with no humor) and may or may not ever reap the advanced benefits of the Rebel T6.I am on my second reading of the for dummies book as it has been decades since I used a "complicated" camera. The review of the basics was helpful as my previous experience with more sophisticated cameras involved the 35mm physical film type.

I found this dummy book to be comical. The language used makes the reading fun.

I purchased this for times when I forget about some of the many controls on my Canon camera. Very satisfied withe the book and it makes using the camera more enjoyable.

The instructions with the camera are ok but this is much more detailed and useful. Found number of tips in this early on that were not in the Canon instructions that came with camera. And so much easier to use than trying to work through the PDF from Canon. One flaw I found here is that they had a cheat sheet you could print out on line but despite several tries never could get their website to work to download this. Not sure if it is missing or what the problem was. Not a big issue but annoying. Whether long time digitial photographer or a novice this is helpful to get to know the new T6 camera I bought

This book is organized in a very clear and concise way. It is so much better than using the manual that came with the camera. Covers all the possible features that you can use.I do have one complaint . . . . On page 3, there is reference to an online cheat sheet that can be used in conjunction with the book (like when you can't take a bulky book with you). I went to the website and entered the information as it is listed in the book . . . . . the cheat sheet doesn't exist. Pretty disappointing.

This book is great to explain use of all of the features, but it only explains the features. I was hoping it explained how you would use the features to take great pictures, which it does not. Still happy with the book, I learned a lot. Now to find a book on photography that will explain what feature to use when.

full colour book unlike some other reviewers have received, I have read few a fair bit of it already and it is very clear and easy to understand, I am a complete novice with my first DSLR and this thing is serving me well.It explains the basics and also gets into the finer more complicated detail without overwhelming you with useless information or technical terms too much, as a beginner this is a great introduction to my camera and photography and I can see this being the gateway to me upgrading my kit in the future with confidence after using this book.

Fantastic book!! Written in the very effective ...'...For Dummies'... Format - so easy to follow, chapters are short and to the point - the flow is perfect & with the tips and sections on decoding terminology on each section I've already learnt so much!I'm a brand new DSLR owner & photography enthusiast - this is a great book to get started!!I have done a 10 hour diploma by an online learning organisation but I'm wondering why I didn't just start with this book a couple months back I'm picking up much more!!

Easy to follow and understand instructions that are straight to the point so you don't need to read the whole book front to back.Great for beginners and newcomers to Canon, this book made me understand my new camera and all its functions in a way that the box manual wasn't able to at all.

I have several these guides and as with the others this one doesn't disappoint. Full of tips and excellent drawings detailing everything you need know, and which I as an ex semi pro photographer found useful. No matter how experienced you are there will be a button of facility you don't have a clue about and so far, I haven't been let down.

Be warned this book advertises as a colour edition but it’s in fact ALL BLACK AND WHITE. Which to be honest is a bit of false advertising and takes away from the quality of the lessons inside as you literally can’t tell from the example photos.
