RKX 1.6L Vacuum pump reseal/rebuild kit N18 N16 Compatible with Mini Cooper 2012+ 11667586424

I went ahead and tore down and rebuilt my N18 vacuum pump (83k miles) the other day with this kit. My pump looked really clean inside, just very faint marking from the vane and rotor spinning. The plastic vane looked basically brand new. That's the part I've seen people have issues with... At least one example of one broken into 3 pieces on YouTube. Probably due to their engine overheating at some point IMO.What's nice is the pump design will absolutely not seize up and cause valvetrain damage unlike the N14 pump with its metal vane. The plastic pieces will just fall from the rotor and you'll certainly get some noise and you'll lose vacuum assist and boost, but that's it.I put mine back together with the supplied o-rings but reused the smallest one as theirs was too thick to reinstall the plastic fitting even when tapping it with a hammer and using fresh oil for lubrication. Everything else from the kit was a perfect fit.Great kit if you have an oil leak from your vacuum pump, and great for preventative maintenance if you want to inspect your vacuum pump internals and clean everything up and reinstall. It won't fix anything if the plastic vane has failed inside your vacuum pump, however. There's no replacement for that piece to my knowledge; you'd have to just buy a new pump if it's totally failed.
