Best Strings for BEAD tuning!
Nice bright and punchy! Also if you use effects on your Bass like Chorus or distortion, these strings boost the sound of the effect. Perfect gauge and tone.

Very nice sounding strings for a good price
This is my first experience with Dunlop strings and I'm very satisfied with the Super Bright Bass Steels. They have a very robust midrange presence that give the bass signal a fullness that can be heard and felt. Out of the box they had the typical metallic zing. When they started to age and loose that "zing", the sound stayed very bright and clear. In other words, they don't go completely dead after a few weeks. So it at least appears that the string life will be long. Finally, I LOVE the slightly looser tension of the string. Great for slapping, but not "floppy" or out of control. It's rare to get this kind of tension on a SS string. The strings are a little more "course" than smooth, which doesn't bother me. Others might find them a little rough if they are just starting out on bass. These strings were a good find.

Lovely Strings
The feel of these strings is wonderful. It has almost a silky feel with great bounce. The most impressive this to me is the tone of the strings. The slap and pops are amazing. I will purchase again.

Loose feel is biggest advantage, but they are not super bright.
These strings have comfortable loose feel, but don't have quite as full range a tone as the DR hi-beams. They seem to keep their brightness a little longer than most strings and have a good punch in the midrange. Good 'bite' but not aggressive sounding, on a brightness scale I rate them 8/10.

Outstanding
Growly , bright high output. My favorite string hands down on my 62 jazz

Stainless steel strings are the bomb!
I normally use D'Addario nickel wound strings in the same guage. But I'm going to keep using the stainless steel strings. The stainless steel strings from Dunlop seem to bring out something in my tone that I did not have before. For a frame of reference: My solid body bass has a mahogany body with birdseye maple top. The fretboard is rosewood. My active pickup is a MM style humbucker, that was made by Bartolini. I rarely use any effects pedals. If you've not tried stainless strings from Dunlop...I highly recommend them! Also: The stainless steel strings seem to last about as long as the D'Addario nickel wound, too. This is my second set of stainless steel strings from Dunlop.

These strings are inexpensive and sound great. It has a clear and bright high end
These strings are inexpensive and sound great. It has a clear and bright high end. If you are looking for more of a boomy and heavy sound profile, then select another set of strings. It has the Marcus Miller type sound. It is also exceptional in the mid range tones. It is also easy on the fingers. I haven't had it long enough to see how the string sound ages. I am switching from DR strings to Dunlop.

Too much tension and too wimpy at the same time.
I was surprised at how much bow these strings caused to the neck compared to a standard set of heavier strings. It took a lot of fine tuning to get the neck straightened and the bridge saddle height set to get a somewhat acceptable playing condition. Odd because the strings do have less tension than my normal strings. Bending and vibrato are easy if thats your style. Slap tone seems good but frankly I would not say these strings are brighter than any other string I have used. I think I prefer Pro Steels at least in a five string setup. The .125 B string just seems too flexible especially on a 34 inch scale. I would not recommend these strings if you like low action as they just are too wimpy feeling and vibrate into other frets. Higher setup will fix that but I don't prefer. Unfortunately I cannot recommend these for anything positive. Now that I went through all that setup fine tuning I'll probably leave on for a while but kinda wish I had just changed them off once I saw the problems it would cause me. Might be a good four string set for a short scale bass but hard to tell. My bass definitely set up better with the cheap factory strings than with these as a replacement. .

In love
I stepped up a guage in the hopes that the lower tension would equal the tension of the ultra light bass strings I was using previously. It was actually even better! I gained the fatness and punch I needed and don't have to work as hard to play fast or challenging music. On sound: I found them to be pretty balanced, but they have truckloads of top end. The character was wonderful, and very aggressive. They will die down a bit after a couple hours of playing, but still have maintained clarity over the last few weeks. Every fret sounded good, no strange warbles on low B string anywhere, and absolutely woke up my sleeping bass. If there were a coated version of this string I'd be even happier. Great buy!
