Canine Friendly Vented Vest Harness- Air Mesh XSmall- Black

I had to get the next size up for my 3 yr old dog because he's filled out since his adoption and the next size up from small is huge on him. The small was only about an inch too small around his ribs so I thought moving up one size was going to be easy. The neck is no longer elasticized and the medium is not an overlap or even close to the small. The material is huge, way more nearly 3x more than the small. I ended up having to adjust it to the smallest fit and he still ended up having his front leg pop through the wrong hole and would hobble over so I could fix it almost twice for each walk, more on longer outings. After all this though I just decided to fold over some of the material and sew it to make it a more custom fit, I basically got rid of by altering nearly 1/3 of the material for the vest. This has worked out great. The reason I didn't just return it is because although it was too big in the chest this is still the best made and designed vest harness I have found. You don't have to worry with the pulling a leg through to get it on or having them step into it, and its easy enough to adjust. Also I think it's the best and most comfortable harness I could find that eased my mind for air travel. We are preparing for a long flight back home and they need to be able to lie down on their sides and anyway that makes them comfortable, these harnesses allow it more than most we've found. They are breathable, too.Anyway, my only real complaint is the difference between the small and the medium sizes, it's a big jump.

I bought this because 7 years ago I bought one and it's beginning to show signs of wear. Based on the first one, I'd say it's a well made harness and will last quite awhile. The length of the chest piece of the XS has been extended one inch (why?) so is not as good a fit on my small dog as the first one I bought. On the other hand, I haven't found one that works as well with his short legs and long neck as this Vest Harness. (The XXS is too small for him.) One of the prongs on the plastic clips broke on the first one I bought, but it is still holding with just the one prong. Thus, I've bought and will probably use this replacement harness when the first one gives out.

This is the second Canine Friendly harness my Pomeranian-Chihuahua has, and the only brand he's worn for about six years. His other is the heavier one, red with fleece inside. I bought this one because we moved to the Mojave Desert, and he needed something lighter & cooler. Overall, these are terrific products; sewn together very well, easy to slip on and fasten. I use it with another strap with the seatbelt loop in the car when I'm driving so he stays in his seat and doesn't help me drive. There have been two times that a big dog has started aggressively towards him, and I was able to grab him by the seatbelt loop on the harness and get him into my arms FAST (luckily, the big dogs only wanted to play, but I'm not taking any chances), so I consider the safety factor a big plus. Also, when he pulls, it doesn't seem to bother his trachea, so for us, these are the only harnesses I'll buy. (I have about seven other different harnesses in the closet that I tried and will never use. I'll probably end up donating them.)

This is my third Canine Friendly Vest that I have purchased. One for each of my 3 rescues dogs. The vest is comfortable for the dog to wear and it offers protection as well.It is easy to put on and adjust so that the walk does not become a pull and tug chore for both you and the pet. Simply slide the top piece over the dog's head and bring up both mid section straps to the center buckle and click...it's done. No lifting of any of their legs is required.Pulling stops immediately and your control is much improved. No more stress on the throat or larynx as with a leash attached solely to a neck collar.The sizing chart is spot on accurate and the materials are of high quality. The mesh is vented to allow use in warmer weather and strong enough to last for years. I have washed these harnesses in the machine several times without a problem. They air dry in under an hour.Great stuff and I highly recommend the Canine Friendly Vented Vest Harness.

This is our second one. The first one was ruined in a skunk attack, so immediately searched for the same exact one. Why, you ask? Because it rocks! Comfortably fits on our Mini Aussie who has a long body but stocky around chest and full mane of fur which makes it hard to find a harness that works without either choking him or being too big around neck and then he can Houdini out, not this one! Good quality components, soft but sturdy mesh, strong but pliable straps so he is secure but never uncomfortable. This is a quality product. It also works with the seatbelts in the car, which is great for our many adventures, both on the road and on the trail. My dog hates collars around his neck and other harnesses were too stiff or straps too skinny and rubbed raw spots behind his doggie armpits. Found the first one in a Pet Express and was so happy to see them on Amazon when we needed a quick replacement after the skunk attack. You can't go wrong with this product!

I have large Min Pins at 20lbs and aboout 16in tall. and this fits perfectly. I do not use collars for walking them for two reasons; one is that due to head and neck size, they pull right out of a collar and two is that should they take off running or pulling they would choke (or worse) on collars. I love harnesses but have had a hard time finding the soft harness until I found this one. The neck is not adjustable but it does have elastic connections which give it some leeway. This harness is soft and doesn't irritate Jake and Rocco's skin but it is vented so that it not too hot. I ordered the small for my boys and have it close to the max on adjustment so that it fits snug but not tight. I feel that the medium would be too large and unwieldy for them like a different harness I had for them prior to this. I highly recommend this harness.

This harness is longer than most and that is what I like about it. We're able to use the harness to partially take weight off of his back legs. Other harnesses don't have that capability. This product is also vented better than other harnesses that we've looked at. The others would be very uncomfortable in warm weather.

I used this harness about 4-5 times and the last time I used it, my 55lb pup busted out of it leaving me running after him while crossing my fingers that he didn't run into traffic. Thankfully he stopped running and I was able to tie his leash around him to get him home safely.It seemed to be very good quality so I'm not sure why it ripped but it did.Maybe I just happened to get one that wasn't the best, I don't know, but I'm quite disappointed.

Wrong size showed up in the package and had to make due as I was in a jam and on a budget...

Best harness. Have 3. They dont stop dog from pulling but it's comfortable for the dog and also includes a loop for the seatbelt.

The harness is well made and a comfortable fit. This is my third harness from this brand name and I have never been disappointed. Would recommend :)
