The NASB, MacArthur Study Bible, Large Print, Hardcover, Thumb Indexed, 1995 Text: Holy Bible, New American Standard Bible Review: NAS MacArthur Study Bible - HUGE study Bible. Hardcover Gray with comfort print (easier to read). Lots of useful articles such as where we got the Bible. When I received the Bible I started reading it at about 2:00PM and became so interested in the format and information and commentaries on the bottom of the pages that I forgot the time. Was shocked to find out it was after midnight and I was still reading. Excellent Bible Study Bible. Many charts defining various times. Each Book has extensive introduction showing Title, author and date Background and setting, historical and theological themes and an outline of the individual Book. Color maps in rear which I have used in my Bible Study classes to explain the Land of twelve tribes and the cities of refuge and other lessons. Commentaries on each page so no need to changing over to look up verses in other commentary books. Highly recommend This Bible. Have only had this Bible for a month so am still learning the various parts. Pastor John MacArthur is the general editor and author of the articles. Are you new to Bible Study?, I recommend this Bible to help explain huge amounts of information as you learn. Review: A Lifetime Acquisition - I can scarcely believe that I own a Bible like this. It's something you want to get early in life and use it until you have no life. It's truly beautiful, and the supple goatskin leather cover makes it a pleasure to hold and to smell. I wanted a genuine leather Bible so that it would lay open easily and not close on itself. It does that. The paper is pure Quality with a capital Q The 9.5 font is smaller than I would like, but it is dark black on the white pages, and easy to read. I was hoping to get a large=print Bible and investigated a number of them, but what they call large-print is actually only between an 11.5 and 12 font, maybe 12.5. That's not large print. It does not have thumb page-finders but honestly, I've had them, and they're not worth it. Your Bible ends up looking years older than it is when the pages get frayed from the thumb page-finders. And here's a little piece of advice: do not waste your time or money on those DIY indexes. The pages to which they get attached rip quickly, and when you are through taping them back on, your bible looks like it came from a yard sale -- in 1903. This is a Study Bible and then some. In his inimitable way, there is nothing MacArthur doesn't cover. The layout makes it the easiest Bible I've ever used for cross-referencing, and looking up anything, including maps, timelines, charts, and fascinating comments and facts. I was hoping to get a red- or blue-letter Bible to delineate Jesus' words from the rest of the text, but alas, it is not. You will want to have enough money to buy a cover with a handle immediately because it is large and somewhat heavy -- certainly unwieldy. Without a carrying case, it would be difficult to negotiate walking any distance with it if you had other things to carry. I started reading mine immediately, from Page 1, because all the preliminary information and introductions are tantalizing, and much more extensive than you would find in an ordinary Bible. Getting through just the peripheral information is almost like taking a seminary course, much less getting to the actual scriptures. I regret I didn't have this magnificent Bible decades ago.

A Lifetime Acquisition
I can scarcely believe that I own a Bible like this. It's something you want to get early in life and use it until you have no life. I Love this John MacArthur Study Bible!!
I love this study bible by Pastor John MacArthur! So sorry about his recent passing. . . The Study Notes are really good. Not a complaint since I'm older and eyesight isn't as good anymore but the font for the notes is rather small. I'm thanking God I can still see it though! Great references, maps notes - this is my favorite bible now. I would highly recommend this bible! May God continue to bless his family, church and ministry.

Indispensable resource for anyone seeking to delve deeper into the Word of God
The first notable feature of this Bible is the translation itself: the New American Standard Bible (NASB). Known for its commitment to literal accuracy, the NASB ensures that the original text of the Bible is faithfully conveyed in modern English. This makes it an excellent choice for those who desire a more word-for-word rendering of the Scriptures, allowing for a precise study of the biblical text. One unique aspect of this edition is the thematic content centered around "Unleashing God's Truth." This theme runs throughout the Bible, highlighting the sovereignty and trustworthiness of God. It serves as a helpful lens through which readers can explore the overarching message of Scripture. In addition to the study materials, this Bible includes various maps, charts, and timelines to provide historical context and geographical understanding, enriching the reader's grasp of biblical events and locations. Whether you are a seasoned theologian or a newcomer to the study of God's Word, the NASB MacArthur Study Bible, 2nd Edition, offers a wealth of knowledge and insight. It is an invaluable resource for personal study, sermon preparation, and group discussions. Dr. John MacArthur's dedication to faithful interpretation and his passion for unleashing the truth of God's Word shine brilliantly in this exceptional edition. If you are serious about studying the Bible, this is a must-have addition to your library.

Perfect for living a daily life couldn’t do without it

Excellent study bible with explanation about the origin of Bible, how to read the bible, there's a foreword before each book, charts, maps and detailed explanation given in the lower half of each page. Jesus' words are not in red though (already in description) which is OK. The paper quality is thin (as usual bibles are, to accommodate more pages to make it compact) but good. I enjoy using this bible as my study guide. Excellent purchase.
