Myler Western Dee with Sweet Iron Low Port Comfort Snaffle

Hot this for my daughter got Christmas. Just what she wanted, only type of bit her horses will ride in.

Purchased a 7 year old mare about 5 weeks ago from a couple that had her about 4 weeks (they basically just buy and sell horses). I noticed when I first visited to give her a test ride and decide if I wanted to purchase her that the owners had a little trouble getting her to take the full-cheek snaffle. Regardless, after purchasing her I bought a full cheek single joint snaffle to try to keep her with something she was familiar with as I took her to her new home. After several rides and issues every time getting her to take the bit I switched to and eggbutt single joint snaffle, which caused even worse issues.Finally, after reading all of the reviews and doing extensive research I purchased a Myler 04 Western Dee without Hooks. This bit is amazing, she literally takes the bit happily and responds well to all cues out on the trail.Wonderful product - I highly recommend.

Very impressed with this bit so far. My horse seems to like it. I had her in a Tom Thumb which I've heard bad things about and wanted to try something else that wasn't too harsh but a bit above a D ring snaffle. Quality of the bit is very nice.

Shipping was very slow, not delivered when promised. Love this Myler bit. My horse responds better with this bit compared to my KK Ultra snaffle bit (even though that bit is excellent as well). This bit uses less tongue pressure and more bar pressure which has helped me communicate more effectively with my horse.

The hinged centerpiece allows for independent side movement, which helps with momentarily lifting or bending on a circle. Wouldn't use as the first bit for a green horse, but love it as an option before moving out of a snaffle to a leverage bit. A little spendy but when compared to knock-offs it's obvious that this is the better made item and worth the price.

This bit is absolutely the perfect bit for my mare. She is light and responsive with it. Added bonus, she LOVES the sweet iron. No more avoiding the bit!

I finally got to use this last week and for the first time my horse wasn't trying to get rid of the bit. He took it in easily and it came out of his mouth easily at the end of our session and he didn't try to grab it between his teeth as he had the previous bit. So far, it has worked as advertised and I am very happy with it.

Using this as a training bit during arena work.
