The Snowman Board book – Picture Book, October 22, 2013

It is just as magical as the show. The illustrations are unmatched and it makes for such a magical, nostalgic winter tale for kids of all ages to enjoy. We love it!

First, we loved the "original" video version of this story. Now we also love the book version!The kids used to watch the video, back in the days of VHS! They used to request it when not feeling well, resting on the couch.... till it became a family tradition. Now, the grand children have the DVD format to enjoy, with similar soothing experience. Highly recommend getting the DVD with this book.Soothing, restful, and happily beautiful artwork, sweet story line with a charming little boy. Exceptional quality (memorized) music from the video plays in our heads when we look through this book.The story is wordless, so non-readers can tell the story of this brief but unforgettable friendship in their own words. Images are like screen shots from the video, in more than 175 picture frames.Glad to find this, matching the original video rather than the updated video version.

I fondly remember reading The Snowman and telling my mom the story growing up. Now that I have my own child, I’ve purchased this book so we can do the same in the future. It holds up and is such a beautifully illustrated story. Really really happy with this purchase.

I ordered this book when I read that the author/ illustrator had passed away that day. The AMAZING thing about this beautiful book are its illustrations and and the fact that there are no words, only the words the reader chooses to say while looking at the pictures. It's perfect for beginner readers who can make their own story or adults who read to littles.

'The Snowman' has been required viewing in my house since I saw the first broadcast in England in 1982. Now that I am back in the US (in what turned out to be an anniversary year) I wanted to introduce my American nieces and nephews to it. It wasn't easy to track down as the UK publishers told me it wasn't available in the US due to copyright but Amazon to the rescue. So, now my American family hopefully have a delightful English story of winter magic to add to their annual reading of 'Polar Express'. Maybe one for christmas Eve and one for Christmas night.Everyone in the family was entranced by the beautiful drawings, probably some of the most evocative I have ever seen. And I foresee a few years of young nieces perfecting the telling of the story. After all, it's a story without words. Absolutely perfect for my 18 month and 4 yr old nieces who are just developing language skills and whose imaginations need developing.

No words, only pictures. A wonderful way to ‘read’ to a young child who doesn’t yet need words to love a book.

The package arrived in great shape. The story and illustrations are timeless. The CD was great!
