Classic Crash on the switch
A classic game for the switch, my kids and I both enjoy playing this game together. The quirky characters and vehicles make it a fast paced, action packed play. Hours of entertainment.

An alternative to Mario Kart
Great racing game, similar to Mario Kart but not as fun. I prefer the levels, characters and karts/bikes from Mario kart but for the cheap price it is a great alternative, as the price of mario games rarely go down, so this is a bargain.

Refreshingly new, despite being a classic
Very minor differences compared to the original but overall excellent port. Better than Mario Kart - game is more well balanced, though requires skill as it runs so much faster, so probably not the best for casual play. Difficulty has definitely been upped - hard is impossible. Better to start with classic or medium difficulty for experienced players, and beginners can start with easy. Only downside is that coins (which are used for unlocking content) can only be earned whilst the switch is connected to the internet - you don't earn coins if the console is disconnected. Also its quite a grind playing solo - you earn a lot more points when playing online. The load times (20-30 seconds per track) and resolution (720p) is a bit of a pain, but to be expected given this is also available on PS4.

Wie viele Stunden ich dieses Spiel als Kind wohl auf der PlayStation 2 gespielt habe? Kann man vermutlich nicht zählen. Dementsprechend war ich wahnsinnig begeistert als ich dieses Remake für die Switch gefunden habe. Die Grafik ist super. Sie läuft diesen feinen Grad zwischen dem Alten und dem Neuen. Es ist neu, aber nicht so anders als dass das Nostalgie Gefühl ausbleibt. Die Stimmen wurden verändert, was aber auch okay ist. Die Strecken, Items, Story – alles wie früher, was mich super glücklich macht. Allerdings gibt es einen sehr großen Makel: die gottlos langen Ladezeiten. Nach jedem Level, jeder Cutscene, jedem auswählen des Kurses folgt eine bis zu 1 Minute langen Ladezeit. Vom Auswählen der Story bis zum Fahren der ersten Strecke können deshalb durchaus schonmal 3 Minuten rein für's Laden draufgehen. Das nimmt dem Spiel leider total die Dynamik und Immersion, und ist furchbar nervig.
