Fits like a glove
This is a nice design. It looks like it was made by S&W and should have come with my M&P from the factory. People seemed pretty impressed at the look of the gun with the laser. I have the green laser and at night it is so bright you can see the laser beam. It looks like a lightsaber. It will definitely give away your position at night. It’s great in low light conditions but It doesn’t work that well, If at all in bright sunlight. The range is so short in bright sunlight you’d be so close you wouldn’t need it.

Worked great on S&W M&P 9mm
I am giving this 5 stars despite some original problems. When I first mounted the laser I was unable to adjust the laser to be on target (was well off to the left). I called Veridian, they e-mailed me a shipping label that day, sent it back. Within about 10 days it was returned and works great. Guy who said it wasn't bright enough hasn't viewed the competition. It may not be great in very bright sunlight but is much more visible than any laser sight I have seen. I also don't understand another reviewer who said that he wouldn't bet his life on it. My accuracy is significantly improved using the laser at the firing range. I agree that you should be able to shoot your weapon without a laser sight, however, under the duress of a life and death situation I will take any help I can get. Just being targeted by a laser can be enough to throw an attacker off. I have only used this a few times, I can't report on battery life but so far it is OK. I recommend this product.

Not quite as good as it sounds
I was a little disappointed in this sight only because the advertising for it made it sound much better than it really is. Granted it is much brighter and more visible than the more common red lasers are but it is not as visible in full daylight as they lead one to believe. I was going to return it but then decided to keep it because, after all, I had purchased it to be an aid in a self defense situation. Since that type of thing is more likely to occur indoors and at close quarters and since it is very bright under those conditions I am hoping that if such a thing ever happens that it will be intimidating enough to keep the shot from ever having to be fired.Should the imtimidation factor not be enough then at least I would know that I am going to hit what I want to hit and in a panic situation that is invaluable.

What more can you say
Delivered quickly - attaches easily - works as advertised - decent price.Only negative I can share is that the battery life appears to be shorter than advertised (based on a previous purchase of same item for a Glock).

M&P45 laser
I bought this laser for my M&P 45 and it was simple to install. My only issue is that it will not fit a holster for the M&P45 with laser applied to it.

Better than expected!
I have purchased several laser sights for both pistol and rifle use, and this is the most well-constructed unit to date. It allows a dismount and remount without losing your zero (without tools and one handed, too!), has 4 modes of operation, is easy on batteries, and hold it's zero perfectly. In short: it is, in my opinion, the best rail mounted pistol laser out there. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering a green laser designator.

Yeah! Very nice toy, but not sure if I want to trust my life with it?
Save your money for the ammo to practice with iron sights.I bought it directly from Viridian. Pros: solid, light weight, and very bright. Cons: bulky, battery door is very difficult to open, and battery life is NOWHERE near the stated 4 to 6 hours.I had it on my 9mm handgun, took it to the range, sighted it in and I estimated that the total usage was less than one hour in various mode. Gun went back to a gun rug on the nightstand and the other day I took it out to the range, turned it on and ... nothing happened. The original battery was a Duracell Ultra CR2 and has a date of Mar 2018, so it was fresh battery. The battery was replaced and it works again. So my guess is that the battery voltage had dropped below the threshold and the laser would not turn on.If a battery only can last one hour then the power consumption of this green laser is really pitiful and it is like 15 to 25% of the advertised consumption rate; OK battery is inexpensive enough so replacement is not in question. It is that whether you can depend on this device when you need it? In my case the answer is a clear and loud NO. Of course I can use my gun iron sights, but I was very dissapointed because of the $$$, ammo and time I have spent... I sent email to Viridian customer service and support to ask about this problem and whether it has a hardware or software malfunction and did not receive a reply. At the meantime this laser is off my gun and I am continueing to practice with iron sights and Crimson Trace grips!
