Replacement Charger for MacBook Pro, Replacement 85W L-Tip Power Adapter Compatible for MacBook Pro 15-Inch and 17-inch Laptop (85L, Before 2012)

I wanted to give this item ample use before giving my review. I’ve had past issues with the genuine Apple charger’s wiring. I’ve gone through three of the OEM chargers and experienced the same issue with defective shielding falling off the cable between the charger and tip.After two months of use, this replacement charger has shown absolutely no problems. The materials used in its construction seem to be superior to the genuine OEM chargers from Apple. This replacement definitely exceeds the manufacturer spec’s. Best of all, it charges my MacBook Pro in a fraction of the time it took to recharge with the Apple charger that shipped with my laptop.PRO’s: The price is less than 25% of the cost for an official Apple charger. The cord length seems perfect. The “L” tip fits snug in either direction. No overheating issues observed with the transformer or my laptop. It will recharge my MBP from zero to full in just about two hours. Most important to me, the cord appears to be far more durable… no kinks, nicks, holes, swelling, fraying, etc. — Did I mention the price??CON’s: None.After purchasing this replacement from RAYI, I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER GENUINE APPLE CHARGER AGAIN.

My Macbook pro 15 inches mid 2012 charger died suddenly. Looking for apple replacements realized how stupidly overpriced they are. After searching amazon for a replacement, found this one for a decent and affordable price. It works as the original. Here you can see it attached to the original wall cable that came with apple charger from factory. The only difference I have noted is that it runs slightly hotter than the original. Not an issue for me but maybpe for others could be depending where the charger is resting. I got my Mac back! To be clear, this is not a paid review.

The packaging came in a nice basic cardboard box (which I actually preferred). The charger was wrapped in a clear film which did a good job of protecting the device during shipping (the physical charging adapter had a hard plastic cover over the charging mechanism).It connects magnetically just like the original charger and was recognized by the MacBook immediately. So far so good, my MacBook is charging as expected. I chose not to leave a rating for durability, since I have just received the item.Overall, I would purchase the device again. The pricing was excellent and I wouldn't imagine paying full price for the real thing when I can get the same performance from a third party device.

Look at that picture. See how the battery is FULLY charged? And that all those lights are lit up and that the charging cord light is also green? I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT FOR YEARS. I thought it was the battery. Perhaps it was the first time. And maybe the second one was just for good measure. I didn't even think that this cord was produced anymore and now, NOW my amazing trusty macbook pro from 2010/11 is back up and working like the champ it's always been. I'm so happy! I've been forced to use this awful windows based netbook that wasn't even designed to work long term due to system updates (wtf, hp?) and now, now my sweet most precious computer that aids me in my design work is functional again and I don't have to use this emergency computer anymore. Five stars for returning use of my laptop back to me! Well worth the money for that alone, and the knowledge that it wasn't the effing battery again.

Works very good, for the price it exceeds expectations!

My original power supply went out on Saturday and received this on Monday. Connected to my existing cable and powered my MacBook Pro without any problems. Had velcro to wrap wire which was a nice surprise. Two days and still going strong. Looking forward to using this for a long time.

When shopping for items that are going to be replacing Apple products or parts, I try to get products that match what I am trying to replace as closely as possible. This is a great charger for the money and has a lot of similarity to an actual 85W Apple charger. If one didn’t look closely, they would never know. It’s a bit lighter than Apples actual charger, but that’s it. Functions just as if it were the real deal!!

My charging cord that I had gotten chewed up by one of the dogs in my house, so I was left laptopless! I quickly turned to the internet to order a new one and I saw that they were like 80 bucks! I thought “there is no way I am spending that much on a cord” so I took to amazon and found this. Significantly cheaper and looked just as good so I ordered it. Turns out it’s great. Plugged it in hopeful and wasn’t disappointed. You never know what you’re gonna get when you order off brand but this is very good. Looks perfect and very sturdy. I would for sure recommend this charging cord.
