Goldwood Sound GW-6028 Rubber Surround 6.5" Woofer 170 Watts 8ohm Replacement Speaker, Black

Good sounding for a great price. I used these to replace the 6.5 woofers out of a Klipsch Promedia v.2-400. They have the same response frequencies as the original woofers, but can handle more power as they are 8ohm instead of the originals' 6ohm. Allegedly, you have to run the speakers for a 2 week brack in. I did not seem to need to as they sounded great out of the box. If you use these to replace your Klipsh speakers, please note: You will need to trim the black wire end to fit the connection. Renewed the life of a 25 year old 4.1 surround speaker set.

My subwoofer foam tore up so instead of paying 22 bucks for the foam and glue to replace it, I bought this instead. Super easy to install, and should take no more than 10 minutes. Just remove the grill with a flathead then unscrew the 4 screws on the speaker. You have to bend the terminals to a 45-degree angle so you'll need some pliers. The left lead fits perfectly but the right side is smaller so you'll need some pliers to widen it. I used 2 pliers, one to hold it while I used the other to pry it wider. I then slipped it onto the terminal as normal and it's a nice tight fit and won't budge. It screws into the same holes perfectly too.The woofer sounds really good. I think it's louder than the original Klipsch but as some others noted, you need to play music through it for a couple hours and it will sound better. On fast sharp sharp-hitting bass notes, it feels punchier but on the deep drawn-out bass hits, it's not as smooth and you can notice a slight rattle. Should be more durable than the Klipsch since the core is made of plastic and the "foam ring" is made of rubber.

Sound great

The speaker has a flaw, if you will, in the center as shown in the photo. I hope this will not eventually affect the sound. For now it's fine and the sound quality is fair. The holes lined up perfect with the speaker case I was using. I think for the money it's not a bad deal. In the Q&A there was a question about negative and positive connections. The wires are both the same color but if you look closely, there is a + and - by the wire connectors. Hope this helps. I needed my 300 readers to see them. lol

I have been very involved in sound for decades.I bought these to replace the woofers on my 30 year old Altec Lansing bookshelf speakers.These actually surpass my origionals.A great buy for the money!

After waiting for a good while before I got this woofer, I was very disappointed with what I received. The woofer arrived with a bad voice coil and sounded terrible when testing with little power.. This is rated for 170 watts @8Ohms. I tested it at 50 watts @8Ohms using a low frequency crossover for extra safety, and it sounded horrible. I checked the impedence using a multimeter and got a reading of 6.2 Ohms instead of 8 or at least 7.8 to round off to 8 Ohms.I reached out to customer service and a representative directed me to GoldWood site and I met a dead end there and was told nothing can be done since I bought their speaker on Amazon and not their site. The representative asked for my phone number and told me she would call back to follow up.. I never got a call and started to wonder if they are supposed to ask for customer's number or did the representative step out of line.I reached out once more to customer service and instead of getting clarification on what could be done, I was kept in a loop of transfers and did not get any help at all. I wasted money on this purchase and was not given a refund at all. Big thumbs down to Amazon's customer assistance for this situation.Don't waste your money buying anything from Goldwood on Amazon... Save yourself the trouble and go to a reliable audio store instead.
