Uncomfortable
I bought this bow because I needed to replace our old one: wood cracked between screw and frog from tightening the bow too much. When this one arrived it we were excited, it looked great. I am not sure how to explain this, I'm not violin player and don't know all the terms, but the black part of the frog that touches the bow's wooden part is not polished and is kind of sharp. The are where my daughters thumb rests gave her a bad blister after one practice. Maybe she is not holding it in a right place, but her teacher said that it's seemed a bit too sharp, and that I could file it down. I didn't return this bow to amazon because I threw away the packaging, and also because we need to upgrade to 3/4 violin size (will do in a month or two)and I need a bow that is not broken. The shop I bought the violin trades in old ones for bigger size, so I'll keep this bow to have with this violin to trade it in. The old bow ended up being taped up with black electric tape. It works for now.

Good bow for your money
I was not planning to invest a lot of money for my 8 years old for a new bow. However, I was very happy to get this bow. The price is really low, so I did not know what to expect from it. It was a great bow for my beginner. I can tell the difference. Not bad!

Adequate bow for little kids
My 5-year-old daughter broke her bow, running around the house like a 5-year-old. We ordered this as a replacement. For the price, this is perfectly adequate for a beginner to use (she's part way though Suzuki book one). Our teacher noticed that it was slightly warped, but no big deal. My 5-star rating doesn't mean that I think that this is a high quality bow, but simply that for under $20 this is a great value.

1/4 Breton Bow
This bow broke unexpectedly while in the violin case. We really don't know any cause other than the cold weather that was experienced going to and from practices.

Great beginner bow
This is a great bow, my daughters favorite so far. My daughter took this bow to her lesson the day after we received it and her instructor was amazed at the quality for the price. Highly recommended.
