Electro-Voice ZLX-12BT 12" 1000W Bluetooth Powered Loudspeaker

Not a big fan of the JBL PRX products outside of the 700 series. Which is exactly what I think this model competes with best. Only I would definitely lean towards this one more so since it accomplishes everything I need in range well not having any features that I roll my eyes at (Like JBL's 50/50 mode, which can be incredibly unreliable for maintaining a consistent balance of volume across multiple speakers). These speakers, function great, what offering a wonderful range for the price point. I can definitely see us picking up more of these as needed. Or trying other EV products we haven't come across just yet, with high expectations. Good quality is awesome, durability should hold up to many events over the years, and the price (currently) is reasonable for what you get. We look forward to a lot of use.

This 12" Two - Way powered PA speaker sounds great, and has features that make it easy to set up, easy to use and ideal for small set ups. When break tunes are running you can hear the relatively high fidelity of these monitors by listening critically to the music material. We do not drive these things as would a dance DJ. It's altogether possible this kind of unit may not be ideal for a very loud dance set up. I am using three of these to provide sound for vocalist and selected soloists in big band performances typically at club size, or local area utility room sized venues. Two mains on stands, and one on the floor as "foldback" monitor for the vocalist. I am able to chain these which for this very limited coverage works easily and well for foldback monitoring (you can adjust the level on each speaker independently; in some settings I can avoid all but one chaining). I try not to adjust the EQ profiles, deeming as flat an approach as possible being the best approach. The Bluetooth does work, but I elected to not really use this, instead injecting any break tune via the mixing console. I use a very small console since I'm really just trying to cover at most four mics in any set up. The typical set up has these mics: Vocal, Sax soloist, Trombone soloist, Trumpet soloist. For club and smaller venue settings these monitors are fantastic, and of course, you can obtain sub woofer should you need to increase bass handling.

I've just started MCing trivia at our local pub and need something I can easily play music and use a microphone with. This this is absolutely perfect! The minimal mixer commands and 4 possible inputs make this a no brainer purchase for me. It's also perfect for karaoke night! It will take two microphones AND allow a Bluetooth or aux signal, yes please! Pros: - Sound is fantastic - This is one loud mofo. If I crank this up, it can deafen a room. - Construction is solid. It's a plastic shell, but it it's heavy and sturdy. Also the handles have a nice rubbery grip. - Super versatile. I use this for pub trivia, karaoke, movie night, dance parties for the kids, etc. - Brand name. This is a well establish and respected brand. Not some Chinese knock off that will be out of business in 6 months leaving you high and dry for support. Cons: - The menu system is a little convoluted and you'll need to read the manual to figure out some of it's features. This is a nit pick really, since it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to pair a bluetooth device instead of 30 seconds. I wholeheartedly recommend this speaker. I'm planning on buying the non Bluetooth version to pair with this one. So yeah, get it if you're looking for a PA system.

The build is very good, with no cabinet rattle. The tone and volume surpassed my expectations. I used to own the Barringer powered 12" speakers, and these are a far cry from those. There is no harshness in the mid-range, the highest are smooth and crisp while the bass holds its own. BT works fine. I'm glad I bought these instead of the cheaper ones that tend to sound thin and shouty. I leave the tone on flat. That's when you know you have a good sounding speaker.

Tried several speakers and this one was by far the loudest, clearest speaker for music and voice using microphone. The Bluetooth works well but the menu is so klunky you need the manual to use it. The scroll / push button combo knob is not intuitive. It would be better to just have a Bluetooth button to pair. Overall excellent, professional quality speaker. I would buy this again. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the klunky menu.

Best decision ever it sound cristal clear and is super loud. The only drawback is the bass and this doesn't mean it doesn't have bass is just that this type of speaker works better with a powered subwoofer from electro voice. Thats next for me a 12 inch electro voice sub and ill be the loudest in my block with only this combo. Must buy

A bit of the old and new all wrapped up in one. Great punch, clear highs and mids, with impressive low end. Bought this to have poolside for parties. The Bluetooth feature helps when others want to play their music. Used speakers like this when I djd years ago. Great product!!

I was in the market for a TV sound bar as an alternative to the built in speakers. I heard a sound bar while at a friends house and concluded that it improved the sound quality significantly. I'm no stranger to PA equipment and thought I would try the ZLX12BT in that role. I'm in my sixties and no longer have a young mans ears. I have a problem hearing what's being said on Netflix, YT streams and whatnot. I often rely on closed caption especially if there's background noise in the soundtrack. I had always thought the cheap built in TV speakers would emphasise the voice frequencies and be easier to make out dialog. I was wrong about that. My theory was that I would use a single ZLX12BT as a kind of centre channel speaker placed under the screen. My decor is man den so the speaker fits right in. It is a powered speaker that includes a DSP. The DSP blends the right and left channels coming from the bluetooth connected desktop I use for the vast majority of my TV viewing. There are four built in EQ profiles (music, live, speech and club.) I though the speech setting might be better for hearing dialog but that ended up not being the case. I just set it to music and I can hear the dialog better than with the TV speakers and it otherwise is vastly superior sound than what the TV offers. An added benefit with this speaker is that it's fairly easy to carry to the trunk of my car. If friends are having a back yard social gathering, this speaker is much better than one of those battery operated small speakers. This solution might not satisfy a hard core audiophile however it is a vast improvement over the built in TV speakers.

I love the sound from these speakers. Although I have rarely used the Bluetooth feature, I really like that I have that option. I’ve used these speakers for a couple of years now and love them for karaoke, music, and watching movies. It would be hard to go back to something like a soundbar now.
