Fits great, solid construction
Pros:Looks nice installed,Easy to adjust tension on rod.You can figure out where to install the brackets for both armsCons:No instructions for attaching arms to brackets.Attaching the arms to the brackets takes some work, since there are no instructions that cover that step. You can use the 2 plastic tabs to space arm connector to the bracket, facing the narrow part of each tab towards the bracket hole on either side of the arm connection. The hinge works smoothly and looks nice. I'd recommend it since you have a lot of flexibility on how to configure it, and you don't need to measure as you can work out where to drill the holes easily.

Perfect solution for my situation
I am very pleased with this product. It was a perfect solution for my situation. I converted the bi-fold closet doors in our bedroom to pivot doors by gluing the doors together and eliminating the top track except on the far edges where the pivot pins are. My issue was that the doors would not stay fully open but these hinges solved that problem. I found them easy to install - I did not need or refer to the instructions that came with them. They look nice and hopefully they'll stand up to the daily use of the doors.

Cheap Hinges - You can do better!
I was in need of something QUICK because the locking hinge on my wooden storage chest failed, smacking me in the head. This product offered Same Day Delivery, so I bought. When you remove it from the package, it looks okay. Hardware, screws, and allan wrench are included. The instructions look like a terrible grade B movie that was translated from Chinese to English. The written text makes no sense whatsoever. The drawings aren't much better. If you buy these hinges, search You Tube for guidance. I watched You Tube video and chucked all the instructions.I might have sent these back if I were not in danger of a concussion from the lid falling on my head again. So, since I had it in hand, I installed and will use these hinges for as long as they last. The biggest problem is that you cannot get it as tight as you might like with the cheap allan wrench and the allan screw. As I tighted it with the allan the head of the screw and the cheap alan begain to fail. Because of this, I cannot get it any tighter than it is right now. The metal on the allan and the alan bolt head must be made of cheap soft metal. As it is now, It will remain open up to about a 45-50 degree angl from horizontal. As you continue to lower the lid the hinges do not offer any real resistance. I am not going to test this, but I'm pretty sure that you could suffer smashed fingers. If this does not get any worse, this will serve my purpose because I ONLY want it to hold the lid fully OPEN. Even though this seems to release the lid as it gets past 45 degrees, this is not a big concern to me. But, should open/close move the allan bolt, it's unlikely that I will be able to tighten it back up because the allan wrench will no longer get a good grip on the allan bolt.At that point, I'll be looking to replace these hinges with something of better quality. As a recommendation, I'd categorize this as a DO NOT BUY. Even if I had to pay a little more, I would purchase a higher quality product as I'm pretty sure this will not last

solid feel, but didn't come with all the hardware
I bought several different types of these lid holders for toy box, just to compare. These felt the most solid when installed and had the best directions. Disappointed that the "new" label that i purchased this one under only applied to one of the pair, as the second was clearly in an Amazon re-sell bag, and it was missing the critical joint screw, some nylon washers and a few wood screws, about a third of what was in the other hardware bag. Trying to contact the seller but afraid I'll have to return this because the hardware is specialized, not something one can find in a jar in the garage

Fatal Design Flaw
This device is garbage. The "Modern" iteration of this device relies on a flimsy little gray plastic claw to keep the hinge on the axis. One of the four cracked during installation. I contacted the seller and was told they did not have parts available to send me but if I wanted to buy another they would try to make it free. Manoj, the Amazon texting helper, disagreed. I used heat to make a flange out of the broken piece. It's just a matter of time before it fails again.I did notice that others utilize a screw to keep the pieces together. Go with those. I can't imagine why I did not see any other users experiencing the same problem I had.

Works very well for light to medium duty
Own a wood shop and have used these for several years. They work will for light to medium duty loads. Not soft close. No complaints.

Does not work on a heavy lid.
I tried these on a cedar chest with a heavy lid. These hinges did absolutely nothing. Also, the instructions are garbage. Needless to say I returned them as they did not work as advertised. I gave 2 stars since they might work on a lighter weight lid.

An excellent hinge for our 60-year old toy box
The hinge's friction tension is adjustable, allowing it to be tightened or loosened depending on the weight of your lid and the speed you want it to close. I installed it on my wife's 60-year od toy chest, that we now use for our grandkids when they visit. My wife mentioned that she feared the lid could be accidentally closed on one of our young grandkid's finders, causing great pain. On one of the pictures, you'll see the lid has been closed to about half-way, and it stys there until you add more pressure to have it close. This hinge checks all the boxes: attractive, fairly easy to install (after a wooden brace was secured for the bottom of each bracket), adjustable, and unobtrusive (from the outside). Well worth the money.
