JumpStart Advanced Premium Kindergarten [Old Version]

My daughter is 6 years old in 1st grade and loves all of the Jumpstart software. This one is no different. She enjoys it and looks forward to playing the games. This one has more of a video game feel which is nice, but she is still learning how to move around in the 3D environment and it has been a little harder for her. I enjoy watching her learn and I don't mind that you have to register the game when you install or that you need an internet connection.But the game is VERY short. It took my daughter 2 hours to beat the 2 badges. This is so disappointing because the old version of Jumpstart Advanced games in the red boxes are just as good if not better better and much longer Jumpstart Advanced Kindergarten. I recommend that you buy the old version. To finish the additional badges you have to pay a subscription, which would be fine if the price for the software and subscription were more reasonable. My other issue with this is the constant video ads when you start/quit from the game are really tiresome.

This product is supposed to be for 4 to 6 year olds but I would say it is better suited for just 6 year olds. My daughter tried to play it this morning for the first time and was very dissappointed that it was too challenging. She has been playing the Jumpstart Advanced Kindergarten 4 CD set and that one is really good. This one is composed of video arcade style games (too busy) and is not nearly as sweet as the one mentioned above. The reading game for example, assumes they can already read words like "cash register" on level one. Perhaps I need to explore this product a bit further but as far as I can tell it is completely inappropriate for your average 4 and 5 year olds.

Although this is a good game it is not complete for you have to in no time go on another site and pay more money. It is quite pricey.

ALL the Jump Start products are highly educational, completely interactive, contain excellent graphics, and are highly entertaining...HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended!

I have always been a fan of the jumpstart games, my older kids played them all the time. My younger daughter received the Jumpstart World for Preschool and loved it. As she grew older, we decided to purchase a more challenging program for her. She played this for two weeks, and now the only thing the characters tell her within the world is that she has to go online and get a subscription. My child was heartbroken. I refuse to spend more money monthly to have my child play a game which we purchased. I tried to contact jumpstart and knowledge adventure only to received voicemails, and also no reponse to emails.

My 4-year-old got through all of the levels of this program within 1-1/2 weeks. When she got through the levels she couldn't progress or see the badges that she had already earned unless I spent more money to upgrade online. (an expensive monthly fee)She can still play the game, but she can't keep progressing. Please don't waste your money on this game. After buying this game I question all other Jumpstart programs and what they may have to offer. It is a shame because the games themselves are darling and have so much potential.

I just picked up this software today, and my 5 year old loves it. It has a really nice 3D adventure feel, and you can control your character to listen to and follow people into other rooms (abc, 123, counting, and math). The program does require a child to be able to know the functionality of the keyboard and mouse movements. If your child is new to the mouse and keyboard, I would not advise you to purchase this. Since our child is familiar with these, it is really fun and great learning tool at the same time. It blends a really good learning game making learn the basic and advanced skills of kindergarten. There is a nice reading part that lets your child interpret what was read to them in a story. This software has a wide variety of games and it has two levels. I believe that you need to purchase other levels to move forward in the adventure, but the first two levels makes the price of the product an incredible deal. You get a lot of games for this software. I highly recommend this!

This game is great in concept, but very deceptive about how much game they give you for the box price of $29. My daughter finished the "purchased" portion of $29. in about 1 week. Then I found out to continue beyond the first 2 badges, you must sign up online to spend either $8/mo or $75/yr to continue. This is a joke, what I purchased I thought was a great complete learning tool, but it's just a front for more money. My advice is to save your money and buy a product that gives you the whole enchilada, they are out there.
