Ultra ProLife Magazine 11-1/8" X 15-1/8" Bags

Don't waste your money on this cheap product (made in China).Maybe I'm fussy, usually I always buy mylar products for my vintage magazines. (Gerber Mylites from the USA, expensive, but proper)However, I couldn't find any of the right size in the UK for 'LIFE' size mags, so I presumed that these so called "Ultra Pro" sleeves meant 'ultra professional' and would be better than nothing.It does say "Acid free" on the label, which I find hard to believe.I think nothing might have been my better option to using these sleeves.The sleeves came folded over, so that each sleeve has an ugly crease across the middle. The sleeves themselves are basically cheap polythene, dull and thin, rather like the awful stuff that some people put rare comics into, because they don't know better. Save your money, (£18.96 !!!) until you can afford Mylar for your rare magazines.

I grew up with Life magazine starting back in the 50's till its demise (but then came the Life special issues). The bags for those issues are terrific. Very sturdy & strong (and with a backing board it's impervious to a lot of abuse). The thing is now I've found a use for them in ways I hadn't thought of before: I can bag large size trade paperbacks & even some "coffee-table" size hardcovers as long as they're thin. The bags are the perfect size!
