ABSOLUTELY PERFECT ROKU REMOTE
I only write reviews when I have a unique angle to present, or something I would've liked to read in the reviews to consider purchase, specific to my interests.First, I just sampled the one-star reviews, so that I might determine which percentage could be chalked up to lack of attention to detail, we'll put it diplomatically. Here are a few things the seller specifies about the remote with no ambiguity: it's not a bluetooth device. You can't use it to turn on or off anything, and you can't adjust your volume with it. It is compatible with a specific list of Roku devices the seller has provided in its description. If your Roku device doesn't appear on this list...well, lots of luck. There are complaints of limited range function, likely from customers who use it in a living room or bigger. I use mine in my bedroom, just a 10' distance, no obstructions between the Roku and the remote, so I can't speak to those issues.Naturally, after a fair amount of devices are produced and sold, there will be an inevitable percentage that will in some way malfunction, either out of the box, or arrive on a countdown to failure due to manufacture error. I can't speak to that, either, but I know I hate it when that happens, so I feel ya. I've had it for almost a year now without incident, no battery problems, no quirks. Notably, the one function I ostensibly regretted parting with on the stock remote was the headphone jack. But once received, I discovered that activating the new remote had no effect on the ability to use the other, so I now use the old remote exclusively for this purpose, as occasion demands, while simultaneously using the current remote to navigate. Here's the unique angle that I didn't read about in the reviews, in case anyone reading this has similar requirements: the 4-button dedicated app configuration towards the bottom of the remote differs from Roku model to model, no doubt predicated on whichever apps at the time are generating the most popular usage. For example, we'll likely not soon see a Roku remote without a Netflix button, but you won't see one again with an HBO Now button. Disney+ will likely be featured on most future models. This remote depicted the most ideal 4-button configuration to our interests, because the buttons activate the four streaming apps we use the most (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and Sling), starting with Vudu, for which I hadn't before seen a Roku remote button. For us, the inclusion of the Vudu button was the sole reason we acquired the remote. Now we very rarely need to navigate the app menu anymore, we can now just go direct to our main sources, a worthwhile convenience for the cost of the item, easily. Two unintended benefits: it's smaller and lighter than the provided remote, and so better fits in our remote caddy. But also, the stock remote would occasionally misfire, and require bluetooth authentication out of nowhere, and it will make an annoying noise until this is accomplished. Now that can only happen when I pop in the batteries into the stock remote for headphone-mode, and it hasn't yet.Hope this helps!

The real deal
I previously purchased an off-brand Roku-replacement remote, and discovered that I should have stuck with the genuine Roku remote. The difference was the button action. The real Roku remote button action is positive and precise. My off-brand remote looked ALMOST identical and operated the same way, but the buttons must be pressed just so. They felt a bit mushy and the left navigation button took excessive force to work. The genuine Roku product has the little cloth Roku tag at the bottom. I can't say that all non-Roku remotes have the sloppy button issues, and the one I purchased is no longer listed. There are non-Roku remotes that LOOK the same. At any rate, you can buy the genuine remote with confidence. You may be taking a chance with off-brand models. Be aware that this remote works with several Roku streaming devices, but not all of them. If you need voice operation, you need something different.

Does this work
Well does it work 50/50. I have a premiere+ it works but not as good as my old 1 had my box behind my TV and it would not work tell it got a direct line of site so I had to move the box. Reality is should have just spent the money for the good one lol

Fast and easy.
Arrived next day, popped batteries in it and it worked. No programing or anything required. Appears to be an actually Roku remote, not a knock off.

No need sync with Roku device; just insert batteries and start using it
It is an exact replacement of the original device and performs as it should; no problems

Good Replacement
Good replacement for my Roku after our dog chewed up the original, only issue is it’s not multidirectional. You have to point it directly at the Roku unit, This is an issue as ours is mounted behind the Tv
