Tayama TYQ-001 Portable Charcoal Grill, Red

I like the grill overall, but the actual grilling surface (the iron plate in the center) is very small. It would be great for Korean BBQ, where you flash fry a protein and some vegetables, but it’s not great for burgers. However, it’s a great tool, very nice looking, it has its own carrying case and takes up almost no room, it is indeed smokeless. It doesn’t get hot on the outside, so you can literally pick it up with your bare hands if you want to move it when you’re finished cooking.So I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to do burgers, this is probably not for you, but if you want to do other high-heat type of things (you can use a wok) this may be perfect.

I liked the stylish look of the grill, that I could pick it and move it while the coals were hot, and that I could start the charcoal on a windy day. It seemed to be a really well made product. I Loved everything about this grill EXCEPT that the only true cooking surface is the 6" diameter cast iron plate in the center. You use this area for your high heat cooking, then move food to the side to keep warm. As a result, it took quite a while to prepare 4 thick burgers.Unfortunately, I think that is the major design flaw of ALL of these smokeless grills, no matter what their pricepoint may be. I decided to return this grill and stick with ones three I currently have use throughout the grilling season: (A Wolfwise folding grill, just large enough for one or two people, a Cuisinart lock and carry portable for 4/5 people, and an Old Smokey for low and slow grilling of large hunks of meat.)

I love this purchase it's quick and simple although I do have to cook outside but I can go in the garage and just place it on a small table with the door up other than that

I have get any chance to use the grill yet but I'm sure that I will like. It is compact that easy to carry around. Moreover, the design with fan installation makes the charcoal easy to lighting up. Product A+++++++++

It does not take very high temperature, but it works correctly. It doesn't really generate smoke, that's excellent. I would not recommend using it in a cold environment. It can be laborious to replenish the coal. In conclusion I think it's worth it.

Thing is great. Heats up fast and breaks down and cleans up easily. Assembly was a piece of cake as well.

Gives off a lot of smoke. Do not recommend for apartment living.

Chance y cuando ya esté bien prendido se pueda usar en interiores. Supongo que depende del carbón que uses.¿Fácil de prender?Si. Se prende en menos de 5min listo para asar.¿Fácil de asar?No. En el centro se concentra el calor. Hay que estarle girando a la carne para que quede bien. No se distribuye bien el calor. En las orillas no le llega bien el calor a comparación con el centro.¿Calienta mucho la parrilla?Al principio si aunque no lo parezca. Si no estás al pendiente te va a quemar la carne. Se regula de abajo con el ventilador el calor.¿Cuánto dura el carbón?Yo creo que te da tiempo para asar 1 o 2 veces. De ahí se consume en rápido y disminuye el calor. Obvio si quieres asar más tendrías que quitarle la parrilla y ponerle más.¿Lo recomiendo?Solo si quieres hacer algo muy pequeño (2 a 4 cortes normales, no grandes). Si cumple, pero no le llega a un asador normal. Hay que usarlo en rápido para sacarle provecho y no batallar.

Product was fantastic. Finally able to grill indoors. I am very satisfied by how rigid and sound the grill is made. It is easy to keep and to disassemble for cleaning. Do note that adding flavoured woods will produce a lot of smoke. Internal fan control is responsive and good to control the heat. However, do note that the center (stone part) is much hotter as it is above the charcoal. Therefore when cooking steaks it may be uneven cooking if it rests between the grill and the stone part. Overall, I am very happy with the portable grill and the value for money. Definitely will try to bring it out for camping. The grills and stone part is easy to scrub with the right tools. Good product!

Wonderful bbq. We’ve taken to picnic/bbq and enjoyed so much, very happy with the purchase
