Electrifying!
I mean firstly let's not forget that if you are not a qualified electrician or a competent person then electrics should be left to the professionals!. If you are confident with the process & working within the laws of yoir respective country then.. this multimeter is a pretty good find, complete with batteries & ready to go this eliminates the need to juggle 2 cables & the device as its nice and compact online design allows you to get on with the task at hand. Using the auto function just adds to the simplicity as it will auto switch between the options when put in contact with the items being tested. All in all this is a great price for a simple & affective product so summing up in the words of Vernon kay! Are you lights on or lights out? (If it's out you probably need this multimeter to get them back on)

HANMATEK Pen Type Digital Multimeter
paid 19 pounds. easy to use, light and handy. quite faithful to the description, pity that it does not detect amperes but only volts. If I have to find a negative side, unfortunately the black tip cannot be removed, all things considered is a good product.

Great tool for quick use but …
This is a good, solidly built tool with easy to use buttons and a decent sized display. The backlight for the display also makes for easy reading in dark corners. The problems are specifically in three areas. 1. The positive tip is too short (even with the cover off) making it difficult for the bulk of the tester to reach recessed terminals. This leads to (2) which is that the “hold” function is almost impossible to use. You cannot simply press the “H” button and go to test, it doesn’t work that way. You have to go to the test item, get the reading and then press the “H” button to get the reading to stay. 3. The torch function is pretty useless as it is too dim (even as an emergency torch). Still have not been able to get the Non-contact tester to work. Would have been nicer to be able to connect/disconnect the negative probe as well. The tool despatched to me had obviously been a returned item as the display was scratched and the battery cover and screw was loose in the case. For the money it is nothing special, but there are few with backlit displays and that was one of the functions I needed.

Great price and definitely does what it says it will do. Recommended.
Purchased it for a DIYer, who was very pleased with it. Really good price and have been told it definitely does what it says it will do. From the report I received I would recommend the item.

Great little meter, ignore the negative reviews.
I can't believe that someone said it isn't suitable for novices. It's entirely automatic, with no knobs or dials to turn. You simply turn it on and apply the probes, the meter does the rest. It really can't be any simpler to use! Also, someone complained that the buzzer took too long to sound when doing continuity tests. That's because it has to automatically select what function to use, but it takes a second, if that. Not a problem. So far I have found this to be a great little meter, and the built-in torch feature will be very handy in difficult to see areas. Nice size to pop in your toolbox or pocket, and it runs on AAA batteries which are a lot easier to source than the usual 9v batteries.

Handy, portable multimeter
This multimeter is very easy to use and you don't have to shift your head from measuring points to the display.A major flaw is the power button. It is a one press power on and has the same profile as other buttons. Because of this power comes on whenever the power button gets pressed accidentally even from outside the carry case. They could have solved this by:1. Having a low profile power button.Or2. Having a protection around the power button.Or3. Having a code/long press power button. The last would still have chances of power on.I solved it by suggestion 2 by building a wall around the power button with my glue gun. A little untidy, but it serves the purpose. (Refer attached pictures)

OK but not as your main meter
This little meter is light, small and easy to hold, it should really be a favourite for routine rough and ready measurements - especially with its auto-ranging.It is the auto-ranging aspect that most disappoints me. It is a bit slow to decide on a range - or even a function. If you go to do a continuity check then it has to think a bit before it does it. It also has a minimum voltage it will measure (which is less than a volt so doesn't normally matter, but might in some circumstances). At least the meter automatically switches off after a period of idleness which is a great blessing.Reasonable value for the price as a sort of emergency spare.
