I recently purchased the SUNNY GUARD Sun Shade Sail in the 8' x 10' rectangle size, and I am delighted to give it a five-star review. This sun shade sail has exceeded my expectations in every way.First and foremost, the quality of the material is exceptional. Love this shade. I am a sun lover and love my patio. The patio is too hot without a cover so i decided to give these a shot as i don't always want it covered. I wanted at 10x10x10 but my configuration didn't work. Had to order a couple times to get my size right, but eventually went with 10x10-14. Glad i didn't settle for the smaller size.I ordered the Terra cotta color and i absolutely love it! Beautiful Color.I found it easier to install.Easy peasy.

I read up on installing and initially left it too loose fearing the sun would shrink it and make it too taught. I then went back and changed two of my attachment points to make the sail tighter. I ordered the attachment kit which came in very handy and used 10ft galvanized pipes to support half. The other half is attached to the car port support beams with plastic coated steel wire. Overall I am extremely pleased! The shade this provides makes the space much more comfortable and it looks great!

Color looked a bit off in the package but once opened up it was perfect. These can’t be beat for creating a comfortable shade space

Maybe it's me, but I purchased a couple different sizes and still having a hard time making this fit in the area that I need.

I like the quality, however I bought a 12x16 and it covers about 10x 14 so get about 2 feet bigger than you need

For 30+ years we have been living with a SW facing 2nd story deck that was always a problem around sunset. The sun's rays could not be blocked no matter what umbrella we used. I finally decided that we would try a sail and this was the best improvement I made to the deck since I recently refinished the surface.With roughly a 11' X 16' area to cover I ordered a 12' X 16' (about $43) allowing for a pitch downward of 25-30 degrees. The reviews and qualities of the sail were good with open-weave, slight stretch, UV block of about 80%, solid stitching and stainless fasteners. I first returned a tan sail because the color was not right but this "adobe" color provided just enough shade without being too red, ie, pleasing tone.Be aware that you do not get the material you need to fasten to your house or poles. With the sail you get nylon rope to use to attach, but I felt it too much of a weak/stretch factor and did not look professional enough. You need to buy an alternative separate. I chose a Sun Shade Sail stainless steel hardware kit (about $20 extra) which provides some optional pieces I did not use but still feel worth getting because you probably will not know what you need until you start hanging the sail.On the negative side there is really no instructions for installing the sail, how it is expected to perform over time or using the extra hardware.On the positive side, it's a pretty easy project. I installed the 2 D-hook fasteners to the house with the D-hooks of the sail using 1 carabiner each. Then I attached 2 "structural steel" 3/4" pipes (bought from Lowes) to my deck in two places using fasteners specifically made for this (extra strength, painted or galvanized. for 3/4 in pipe). Also, you need to buy the real sturdy 3/4 in pipe hooks to use from that section of the store.Finally, stretching the sail and installing. You should be able to stretch the material a bit by pulling it bhard, so keep this in mind on where to locate your poles. I used one turnbuckle to fine-tune this and ended up relocating a pole about 8" farther as you will notice the material stretch maybe 6 inches after being hung for a couple weeks and after some rain. It's solid as a rock and has stayed up in gusty winds.I have to say this is one of the best products I've bought in terns of doing the job I expected and the low cost of the project. it's not a difficult job to do and the sail can be taken down easily.

The mesh for this shade sail was defective, with several large holes. When completing the return process, the seller did not proved a postage-paid return label. And a reminder to myself to always check the "ships from" info. This product comes from the US, with additional return postage required.

The material is cheap, looks cheap, basically just a dollar store blue tarp, but grey.
