Okay wow! These hold up SO WELL! Actually had someone try to break down the door to make sure it would hold up, and my word it did! Easy to use, honestly kid proof, and let me just say, perfect if your dog unlocks the door. My dog couldn’t unlock this one since she doesn’t have thumbs lol! Great design!

These are very attractive little devices that do their job well. They are a little awkward to open and close at first but you get used to the specific actions necessary and it’s easy to do. I like that these actually will provide some reinforcement to the door, in addition to keeping my toddler safe. I’m sure this door is far more difficult to kick-in with the additional support that this provides in a key location. It’s nice and snug to the door so it feels very strong. I had to chisel out my door frame slightly to get them where I wanted them without catching on the door slightly. The chiseling was honestly a little awkward, required an additional tool and I wasn’t great at it. Having said that, it’s a reasonable thing to have to undertake to get this level of style and security installed in a door gap that is just too narrow to accommodate it unmodified. The finished result still looks great and performs beautifully.

Yes, I’m impressed. Very impressed. After seeing so many kluge designs, this was like a breath of fresh air. I began by ordering the two-pack, not knowing if these were junk or not. Well, they aren’t junk. Actually, these nifty devices are terrific. They are relatively discreet and actually look nice. They are an effective, yet simple design that is easy to install. And I feel a heck of a lot safer now after installing them. Just note that no lock is burglar-proof, but these locks (along with reinforcing the frame, strike plates and hinges) will give one time to react. And if you are lucky enough to live in a free state, it will give one time to get your weapon of choice. After using two of these, I quickly ordered another two-pack kit. I’ve installed one on my front door, one on the outside side garage door, one on the garage door leading into the house, and then one on my bedroom door. My rear door is a French Door, so I’ll have to go with something else. The only caveat I can see are the supplied screws. They look to be #8 x 1-7/8” long. I highly recommend you do NOT use these, because they don’t look to be strong and are way too short. It’s okay to use one of these supplied screws (even the shorter screw) in the alignment slot. But once you are properly aligned and know you can easily flip the latch to lock and flip it to unlock, go out and buy #9 or #10 screws at least 3” long (I used #10 x 3” long torx-head). I also think that on the front door, it wouldn’t hurt to use two of these locks (one above and one below your dead-bolt). Matter-of-fact, I’ve just order another lock to do just that. My front door is such that I think one swift kick would have shattered the 3/4” soft wood frame. That is the reason I reinforced every swing-in door and frame. Besides the supplied screws, is there anything else I don’t like? Not really, but I wish I knew what type of alloy and tempered aluminum these were made out of (like 6061-T6 or whatever). I also am not sure how good their spring is (I’ve read that a couple of people have had trouble with the spring breaking). I’ll just have to wait and see how these springs stand the test of time, but they do have a 5-year warranty, so I should be good. The fact is, these locks were thoughtfully, yet simply designed, look nice, and I rate them highly. They also seem very strong (don’t know about their 800 lb. force claim, but I don’t really doubt it). Also notice that 90% of over 130 reviews rated this lock 4 or 5 stars, which is quite amazing. Therefore, I will easily give these a 9 out of 10, or a 5-star rating.

Installs, locks and works as described. Good added layer of protection, even on doors with glass that can be shattered to access deadbolt or know locks.

I have to small children who love to be outside and like to try and escape from the house this gives me peace of mind when we have the door unlocked and keeping the kids safe. The lock quality it good and fast to put in place and to remove it.

Easy to install and to use and truly kid-proof. The color blends in nicely, you hardly even notice it’s there. Overall, a great product for added peace of mind at home.

This is perfect, it gave me the relief I was looking for especially having a 7 year old with ASD, who has managed to figure out every child lock I have ( toilet, fridge, drawers, doors he has literally figured every single one out) this one you can place at the top of your door so even if he tried to get out he would have to pull a chair up climb up and then sit and figure out the mechanism. It was easy to install on one door, it fit perfect. The other door I had to chisel out a bit but well worth the time, for the sense of security in return. I feel so safe in my home. My older son who is 13 took a little long to figure out how to open it even after I had taught him. The color matched my white door and door frame perfect so not at all an eye sore. The lock functionality absolutely works well, for anyone who comes over often just teach them how to open it.

Recently started living alone and had this installed. A friend tried forcing this open with it unlocked/latched. Could not force it open. Instantly makes you feel more secure when alone.
