Linksys LAPAC1200C AC1200 Wireless Access Point for Business (Cloud Management PoE WiFi Access Point),White

I purchased this to replace an access point from another manufacturer that needed rebooting every few days for reasons nobody has been able to figure out. I always have good words to say about Linksys and this is no exception. I have a business network that incorporates VPNs, VLANs, trunking and multiple subnets. This fit right into my infrastructure with minimal configuration - which should be appreciated by anyone who has ever had to deal with incompatible VLAN implementations. I was up and running with 4 SSIDs in 10 minutes. The hardest part was mounting the unit.

Installed in my garage for the purpose of having a good WiFi connection. The AP is 110' from my router using Ethernet cable. Main use is to support Security light and camera that requires at least two bars. I receive an 85% signal and WiFi connection for phone and lap top is fantastic in my garage 110" from router in the house.

Arrived in timely manner. Cloud activation,which is what is recommended out of the box, did not work, had to use local PC access set-up. 2 hours with tech support and no resolution. Works great with local control, when communicating with cloud AP would de-activate WiFi radios and show online when it was offline. So standalone without Cloud control or access has nice coverage and operation. Will update should they get cloud service to work.

Replacement for older unit, needed the dual band to support a nest product. Installed a Smoke/CO detector in my shop/man cave in a restored barn. Needed the nest product because I was not always in building and had wood burner being used at times. I liked the fact that it was POE since I have video cameras using POE in and outside building and made install easy. I like the Linksys Business products, Have the Linksys LAPAC2600C AC2600 installed in my home, wanted to stay with similar Access Points.

Need to use RADIUS for WPA2-Enterprise? You'll have to abandon cloud setup and configure units directly through their admin UIs. Not sure whether that means you also lose monitoring, but that definitely means no cloud-based reconfiguration or intervention when there are problems. Also unknown how that affects client roaming and handoff. Guest captive portal is buggy and disconnects users long before timeouts should be triggered. No es bueno.

Linksys wants all the network information. My network is Linux. I need to access this 1200 AP directly, not through some website. This is going back in the box and returned for another brand. I took a chance, my bad. I will buy a different brand that does not take control of a network.

I have 3 installed at the moment, if you update firmware to 3.4.x or later. Your speeds will get throttled by access point in the range 1-20Mbps. With Throttling options being off.Backstory: prior update I've enjoyed local control and performance. Product was perfer performance wise. Reason I've updated them, I've had issues with connectivity in so.e parts of the house. After upgrading nothing changed only to find out that there was problem with cat7 fitting.CAUTION:If you have older firmware "DO NOT UPGRADE"

Compre este router porque tengo un restaurante y quería que las personas al logearse los redirigiera a la red social del negocio, pero solo funciona desde una pc lo probé con teléfono móvil y no pude lograr que los enviara a la red social.... en fin no me sirvió para el propósito que tenía en mente... si alguien quiere comprarlo por lo mismo no lo recomiendo, talvez con otra marca y si lo saben les agradecería mucho me que dijeran con que router si funciona para teléfonos móviles.
