Xbox Kinect Adapter for Xbox One S/Xbox One X Windows 8/8.1/10 Power AC Adapter PC Development Kit with UK Plug

Makes the Xbox camera useful, I never used it for gaming but really handy for windows with face login and password replacement feature and quality camera for video.

After reading a few reviews I was a bit skeptical about this, as some mentioned it not being properly grounded and it emitting sparks when touching metal, however after some research I deemed this one to be the best quality of the others I had seen so I purchased this. I needed this to power a second hand Kinect V2 that I purchased to use for a camera and Windows hello.I can confirm that I don't get any grounding issues, however I've not fully verified whether it is properly grounded so you may want to check yourselves, as I have had third party power supplies (for the original Kinect) pop open when plugged in in the past.The power supply seems sturdy and reliable, and provides adequate power to my Kinect and I've not had any issues since purchase, however I will update if any problems arise.

Having been an early adopter of both Kinect devices across two different Xbox platforms, we've become accustomed to the great functionality it provides.It does everything all the numerous remotes do, allows us to control all of our entire entertainment systems in one and signs us in when it recognises us. Microsoft's attitude towards Xbox One X users and Kinect was appalling - removing the Kinect-shaped USB port from the XB1X and then stopping manufacture of the converter. Microsoft provide Alexa skills, that don't exist outside of the US - not that we'd want an Amazon anti-privacy device in our home in any case. At least with Microsoft we know where we stand.Thankfully this adapter resolves the issue and we've had our Kinect friend back (reliably) ever since. Once or twice we've accidentally knocked the connector out whilst cleaning, but reconnecting it seems to resolve the problem without issue.It also avoids the unscrupulous sellers who bough the Microsoft Kinect Adapter en masse, jacking the prices up 400% - plus this will work if you want to use your Kinect device on a Windows PC / embedded device.

I have bent it back into place but I'm unsure of if it will work, until I test it, it's a 1 star from me.

Found my old Kinect 2.0 from my first XBOX ONE kicking round but couldnt find the adapter Microsoft gave me to make it work with the XBOX S. Bought this and .. it almost worked straight away with Win10!I had to look under device manager, find the kinect under USB and update a driver (I forget the details - google "kinect 2.0 windows10 driver update") but now it works with Win10 PERFECTLY.I use it as my defualt webcam now, PLUS it enables Windows Hello - which means it unlocks my PC by looking at it. This is not available to most webcams, but the kinect 3D sensors means this feature is now available to me.In addition to decent webcam quality, the microphone sensor array in the Kinect is brilliant. Handy for those family zoom meetups RN.

This adaptor was out of my price range when I originally looked at purchasing the Xbox Kinect sensor and at the time there were no alternatives to the expensive ones. 2 years later I finally got hold of the Xbox Kinect sensor and was glad to see common sense had prevailed in the pricing of the adaptor to connect to your pc. Although I'm pretty sure they're of Chinese origin and the reliability of such units would make you think twice I can say so far the unit has worked well without any issues and allowed me to get on with using the Kinect with its many applications through a pc. That said we'll see if reliability becomes an issue later on. Will keep you posted
