Extremely Pleased with Quality and Functionality
Husband is 6' and approximately 210 lbs. He had a mid thigh amputation on one leg and recently had a stroke, leaving him without use of the other. After watching You Tube videos on a U Sling, I ordered a medium which was the optimal fit for him.I ordered this sling for toileting after nearly strangling him using the poesy belt on the medical lift.I would give it 10 stars if I could. the ease of transfer and proper weight distribution was amazing and a huge relief. It was more comfortable for him and reassured him we were going to be able to manage going forward.

A must have
Have 2 other slings for our hydraulic lift but this one is the easiest to use. Have even thrown it in the washing machine and line dried. Still looks like new. A must have if you have to get your LO off the floor or make transfer.

ITCHY ITCHY ITCHY
If you can tolerate constant itching then this sling will be good as it is well made and sturdy. This sling made my life easier as I had to have both of my titanium knees removed due to an infection. Until I get new knees, I'm confined to a wheelchair and need a sling to hoist me. We had been using the sling with a hole for potty use. Every time I needed to use it, it was a chore getting it rolled under me. After 2-3 days it would get soiled and we had to wash it, so we purchased a couple of slings. This one is very rough and is chafing my skin. I got 3 bedsores from the seams rubbing my thighs. This just slips behind my back, I lift my legs to put the leg slings under my thighs. This easily comes right off and I no longer need to keep the full body sling on. This is soooo much easier, cleaner, to use. Hands down this is a winner. I am 5'0 and 93 lbs and I got the small. I have good upper body strength. The way the sling holds you, an elderly person could use this. Finally my bedsores are going away and we can freely get at my coxix and butt to attend to the wounds. Straps are VERY stiff, and the material this is made from is VERY ITCHY. I was hoping after several washes it would become softer. No such luck. I wish they would make this in a different material. Whatever the grey part of this sling is made of, it is sooooo itchy. I’m looking now for a different sling that won’t itch so much. Why on earth would they use such horrible fabric ? Other than the itching, it works well. Anyone out there have any ideas on how to itch-proof the material ?

A Real Lifesaver
This sling has saved us a world of pain. Previously we used the mesh cut out commode type sling provided with our Hoyer Lift which was horrific to use. This split leg sling has saved us some much time, energy and comfort for my father, The stitching and fabric quality is fantastic, as my father is 250lbs. There are 3 different settings for attachment to the Hoyer lift and this sling can be used on a lift that only has the 1 arm. The best part is probably the ease of use as all you have to do is lift the patient's thighs to slip the sling underneath. It doesn't require the person to full stand in order to be able to use it. Life Saver! Very happy with purchase.

More efficient
This sling was much better than the full coverage sling from local medical supply center. It allows us to raise and lower my mom more efficiently for us and gives us more room for any toileting.

This is the best sling
I’ve honestly not use this sling that was this comfortable. It made all the difference! I would highly recommend this for purchase.

This didn't work for an elderly woman
I am giving this three stars because I think this is a quality product that could be good for some people. It is well made and sturdy. But, it turned out not to work for us. I bought this sling for an elderly woman who has little upper body strength, and little control of her lower body. I (a fairly fit man) tested the sling on myself. Using the belt around my torso, I could not slip out of it whether the sides went under my arms or whether my arms were on the inside. So, I thought it would be safe for her. She has shoulder problems, so she didn't want to have the pads under her arms, wanting her arms inside the sling. We used it twice with her successfully. On the third time, she simply slipped through the strap, even though the strap was tight. She was unhurt, as we caught her. I think the problem is that her body above the strap is smaller than where the strap would best go around her for a lift. She has narrow shoulders, and she has so little muscle tone that when her weight shifted to the strap, her upper body compressed and she slipped through. I don't think this is a problem with the sling or the strap -- I think the problem is that the sling just wasn't right for this patient, who needs much more support than it provided. For someone with an upper body that broadens, rather than narrows, towards the shoulders, and with some muscle tone in the upper body, this sling would probably be fine.

Great for toilet and showering
My dad has dementia and we needed a sling that would be easy for toilet and showers, we have bought so many and none would work well. This sling is easy, feels safe and easy to remove and put in a patient. I would highly recommend. I tried it on my self and it feels safe, plus it has a seat belt which is extra security. I would highly recommend in watching YouTube videos for this sling since there are different ways in how to secure the patient. Very happy with the purchase
