Pocket Bellows - Weatherproof Collapsible Fire Bellowing Tool for Starting Fire- an Essential Camping Gear

Simple and effective
I was made aware of pocket bellows after a long canoe trip in the wilderness of northern MN. They really do the trick to get fires going and is so much easier then crouching down to try and do it. Would recommend to anyone that regularly camps/backpacks and wants to be better at fire starting. They also are lightweight and come in a good storage tube; easy to pack away and have when you need them.

Nice camping tool
What a relief not to have to get down on the ground to blow on the embers. This tool takes up next to no room. The kids liked using it to stoke the flames. Worked great.

Solid product
This pocket bellows functions well, and seems to be well made. It does seem a bit expensive for where it is, but it has definitely helped with getting fires going.

Why would you not have one?
For all the money (literally thousands) I have wasted on gear in my closet or stuff I give away this is easily the best piece of gear, for the money, I own. It is worth every penny to wake up in the morning and quickly have last night's fire going for coffee and some breakfast. Numerus times over the years I have become lightheaded/dizzy trying to get the fire going. This makes a huge difference and is definitely safer having your face back a bit.

Works well, but not revolutionary.
This product works as advertised. It's not magic, but definitely lets you get air to where you want it and is wonderful for getting the fire going again after it has died down and you've added more wood. It's not that it's dramatically better than getting in there and blowing, just a hell of a lot more convenient. Not perfect, I would like to see it a little longer and with something like a flare at each end to help grip it to aid in extension, but it's a fun and functional tool.Naturally, the first thing I did after getting mine was to try to make a few of my own using a set of rabbit ears and a piece of copper water line from my old refrigerator. The three I made actually worked decently well, though I still strongly prefer the pocket bellows. The 2 from the rabbit ear antenna telescoped and held together well, but were thin throughout. That means you can't deliver as much air as quickly, though, it does mean you can sustain the air flow longer. The fire did not seam to get as hot due to this limitation, but it did still start the fire back up. The copper pipe was similar, though of course does not collapse at all. I'll probably keep the home-made ones by my fireplace at home and keep the pocket bellows in my camping fire kit.If this was half the cost, I would say it was absolutely worth trying. At the current price (~$13) it's nice to have, but not a necessity. I like it and will continue to use it. If you like the concept, but are cost conscious like me and have some old rabbit-ears laying around, make your own. It won't work as well, but may be enough for many people. See the included photo for the copper pipe, 2 rabbit-ear variants, and the pocket bellows.

Simple but it works
It’s a simple device, you could probably just take an old car antenna and do the same thing, but this thing really works. Fires take only one match to get going, thanks to this bellows. It’s part of my survival kit from now on.

Don't blow it! Get this for your hiking/camping kit.
I took the Epiphany Outdoor Gear Pocket Bellows on a long section hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, and let me tell you -this little gadget is the unsung hero of my trip. It's like a magic wand for fire starting. One minute I'm huffing and puffing over a sad pile of twigs, looking like a caveman trying to discover fire, and the next thing I know - POOF! Flames, baby! The Pocket Bellows turns you into a fire-breathing dragon (minus the singed eyebrows). At first glance, it looks like a tiny metal straw that might belong in a spy kit, but once you extend it and start using it, you'll realize it's the key to unlocking your inner wilderness wizard. This collapsible tube made me feel like I had leveled up my camping game. With this in hand, windy conditions and damp wood didn't stand a chance! It’s basically fire-starting sorcery in your pocket.Oh, and the weatherproof part? Completely true. Rain, wind, or the occasional face full of campfire smoke - it kept doing its job while I looked like a seasoned outdoor pro. And let's be real, there’s nothing more satisfying than casually pulling out this telescoping tool, blowing some air into the fire, and watching everyone’s jaws drop as the flames roar to life. Instant campsite hero status. If you're hiking the PCT or even just lighting your backyard grill, the Pocket Bellows will make you feel like a fire-starting legend. 10/10, I’ll never go hiking or camping without it again.

Works awesomely
Works as advertised. Sure, it's "just an antenna" like others have said, but where can you buy an antenna that works for this purpose perfectly? I've been struggling with the winter weather and my sort of dry-ish but snow covered wood in down to 0F weather and this has been able to create way hotter fires with way less fire starter/kindling without all the light headedness and hot face than before.Absolutely recommended!
