Romans: A 12-Week Study (Knowing the Bible)

Romans is a complex book with lots of depth and content. This study dives into all of it deep enough to feel you learned something new without over-interpreting. Great context and connections to other passages as well.

I am just finishing up this study and I have learned SO much over the last 12 weeks. More than any other study had taught me. The question challenge me to really think and go deeper. I would recommend the ESV study bible to use with it if you’re newer to bible study and need some help with answers (or want to check them) as there are often corresponding discussions in the study bible that helped me along the way. The writing in this was very clear and I appreciated the solid theology. I learned a ton!

It's a good beginner starter discussion guide. Would recommend to start out small groups, but not a deep discussion. Vague overview of the book of Romans, not an in depth guide.

This is the second study in this series I have led a group of men through. It is accessible to a broad audience / suitable for newer believers as well as those who have been around the block a few times. I especially like the “Gospel glimpses”, “Whole Bible Connections”, and “Theological Soundings” sections for each week . . . these sections give context for the content in the study that help you understand how this book and it’s themes fit into the broader scope of the Bible.

JI Parker is hard to beat as one who knows the Word! This study opened vistas of thinking beyond the text and guiding one to open the pages of the entire Bible to glean the character of God.

Using it in a Bible study at my house and it has great questions that point to the main point of the text. The three articles at the end of each section also help keep it all in context of the overall story line of the Bible

Very good introduction to Paul's letter to the Romans in a Bible Study setting, covering the general message of Romans and applicable questions from the text. Well set out in exegetical form encouraging a serious reading of Romans rather than an overview. As F.F. Bruce said about this letter: "There is no saying what may happen when people begin to study the letter to the Romans". Jared C Wilson offers people such a transforming journey with his well thought out approach to Romans. All the important Gospel words are defined throughout. He connects us back to the whole message of the Bible while delving into the important theological developments of the letter. The personal application of Paul's message are presented to us at the end of every study. I hope pastors, Christian leaders and churches in general will see the value of this study for their people. Highly recommended!
