Good instrument for the price paid
The tombone is perfectly operational and of decent quality with concerns to the price paid. The slide is smooth clean and true and well and the slide tube receiver. The mounth piece was clean, and pristine in condition and finish and the mouth piece reciever tube was smooth and true. The only issue that has come up is that the horn bell had 3 small dents in it that looked to have come from manufacturing. The case was solid and protective as well as the packing material used to ship it. I was able to hand massage the dents and ripples to minimize the appearance, but the material used is too thin to hold the corrections without heat and tooling. The sound and operation is not affected by the dents so it is not a concern.Overall we got a decent horn for a good price.

Perfect!
After having trouble with a trombone rental company, I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase one for my son. I looked at the various trombones offered and chose this one because of the reviews and price. It arrive just as it was dated to and my son could not be happier:) The carrying case is actually better than his rental...easier for a sixth grader to carry. My only regret is not doing it sooner! The price is amazing for the product!

I have been playing for 40 plus years and decided to get a horn to beat around with. This is a very low quality instrument. The slide was never finished properly and had several areas of missing plating which caused the slide to drag terribly. Don't give this instrument to a beginning music student as it will destroy his desire to play trombone. You cannot play a slide horn well when the slide sticks in place. The slide action on a trombone is everything.

Disappointed
I purchased this trombone for my 10 year old. He was using school trombone so he did not begin using it until the following year. After the music teacher examined it, he discovered it was bent so will not move as easily as it should. Unfortunately, it was pass warranty now I have to buy a new instrument. Very upset have to buy a new instrument after having it for less than a year and used it only a few times. Repair cost more than price. The value was not there.

Unsure
Package arrived as stated, upon 1st inspection of packaging, it appeared fine from the outside and the was no audible sound of objects moving inside; however, after closer inspection, I could see the paper packaging inside the box. I expected to see the case and the trombone within ; instead what I found was another box severely damaged as in ripped open. The label on it was from somewhere else. Outsource warehouse I guess. I didn't need knife to split the tape I finish opening it from the 1/8 that was still attached. There I found the trombone case within plastic, zipped close. I opened it and found the trombone strapped down properly; but I'm thinking, is there damage to this horn from the 1st warehouse to amazon's warehouse? Was it dropped the mouthpiece came out and was damaged, so they replaced it with another one not the one on the box. In either case, amazon attempted to package better; but they didn't remove the trombone from the original box or inspect it at that time. I'm confident amazon will stand behind there return policy, if an issue arises. Not being a trombone technician or player, I can't access fully. I do play instruments, not this one. Common sense do dictate to check for proper finish, model, mouthpiece, obvious cracks or dents. The slide mechanism seem to go smoothly, but again, I'm not the trombonist, so I don't know what I should or shouldn't experience. I did notice something a bit odd though, the mouthpiece didn't look like the picture on the box it came in. So, I can't say if it will be an issue as well or not. Will update later when the trombonist tries it out for himself and if he has concerns and after his repairperson evaluate it; this will be continued either way good or bad. But , it appeared in good shape for the job at hand. So for now I'm leaning toward 2.5 stars; but their rating don't have 1/2 stars.

As advertised!
My son was interested in learning the Trombone (He is currently learning the Tenor Sax). This seemed to be the logical choice; low price and good quality. After reading the reviews, I did a thorough inspection and found no flaws. Within minutes he had figured out slide positions and was playing all his Sax songs on this Trombone.Highly recommend this purchase for beginning student over renting from music store!

Fit the bill
We ordered this for our 9 year-old son who loves music and wanted one for Christmas. It came packaged very nice and works well. He watched a couple of videos on-line and began playing it. Of course, he still has to learn how to really play it, but for what he'll be using it for...it's great. Glad we ordered it. I had checked at a local store and they ran about $800.
