Ruskin Bond brings to life the little details about small town life and it's own charming ways. I have found his description of the hills ( Dehra and the new Uttarakhand) second to only Jim Corbett's. Simple and compelling read.

Great stories.

Perhaps I'm not a good reader!! :) Because I found most of the stories pointless, and just like mere journals of imaginary events. Wanted to see how reading stories/fictions would feel as opposed to reading non-fictions, and decided to pick this one from a well known author. Surely, this helped me go back to non-fictions again.

I requested this on Kindle for IPad but did not receive it so cannot give a review I am sorry

His best story..Period

A great selection of the best short stories from one of my favourite writers- a must read. Like in alll collections some stories are beautiful while others not so good but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book contains some of the selected stories of Ruskin Bond. It's a good book fill with gentleness, innocence and simplicity. It contains stories that are simple, yet heart warming and indelible. It makes a genuine connect with the readers and takes them back to their memory lane. It might not be favourite for readers who find adventure, mystery or sensational literature appealing. P.S. The fonts are two small which is exhausting for persons who are not a vivid reader.

I came upon this book after a recommendation from a close friend. Till then, I had only read very few short stories from Ruskin Bond. I must say, the simple yet thought provoking stories woven with deep emotions, will definitely get us out of the mundane and complicated chores we go through everyday in our life. Every story is unique and evokes a certain string of emotions. The endings will make you crave for more. The characters are beautifully created and surely we can identify some from our own lives.The twist in the end is unpredictably interesting, in almost all of his stories. Its great talent to be able to stretch one's emotions so far and portray them in words in such marvelous way. The stories are simple yet heart touching. It will surely make you feel relaxed and good after a days hard work, or if you have been reading too much heavy stuff. You can clearly figure out that Nature and Ruskin Bond is inseparable. The beautifully described scenic beauty will sure beckon you to go see the places described here in the stories. Almost all facets of love has been described in his stories, the longing for the girl in the platform, the un-materialized love affairs evokes the feeling of pain and missing the one person whom you always longed for. Overall, I enjoyed the read to the fullest and will recommend it to others.
