Drive Original Soundtrack-2XLP Pink vinyl LP Re-Press [vinyl] Cliff Martinez

More often than not, colored vinyl releases are problematic. I understand why record labels do this but I cannot tell you how many bad pressings I’ve had to return or get stuck with. This DRIVE soundtrack release by Lakeshore is, unfortunately, one of those releases. Extremely noisy pressing. Every record you own will have little fleeting moments of surface noise but a bad pressing is a whole other story. LOTS of surface noise. On this copy I could actually feel hardened particles that are in the vinyl that give a loud pop or thump as your needle passes over them. Some companies like Mondo will offer a plain, black vinyl in addition to colored variants. I wish Lakeshore had as well. This release was a bust for me. In the past I would have mailed it back for another copy but I have been down that road too. The second and even the third will be bad as well.

You probably know what 3 songs I'm talking about. They are so good, as is the movie, everything else is mostly ambiance. Just like with my Zootopia soundtrack, I was left wanting more, but that's my fault for not looking at the tracklist of what I'm buying. I saw Ryan Gosling's scorpion on his back and I just lost all ability to think for myself. There is a 10-Year Anniversary of this vinyl, which is selling now, and I would recommend it over this one. My copy came with torn jacket, the records popped through, probably in shipment, but I don't care much since I just bought it for the music. The orange-ish color on the vinyl is nice too.

Lovely package and colored vinyl, unfortunately not a good pressing...

My 2nd disc came with a manufactures defect, not shipping. The cover is perfect, the first disc is perfect and nice looking and not worth returning since I only wanted "Nightcall". Great record.

Sounds great, wasn't expecting it to be a gold colored vinyl.

Undamaged and timely. Needed this vinyl, such a good film and the audio speaks for itself.

Pressing is pretty subpar. Notable noise on both records, with it being extremely noticeable on any of Martinez's tracks, since they're ambient songs. That's the coin you flip when buying colored vinyl, so I'm not overly upset, it's just unfortunate such a killer album fell prey.

This amazing soundtrack I'm glad it looked it up before I bought it but I'm even more glad I bought it getting up there in age and you know it's nice just starting new hobbies
