Authentic
I have rarely seen a recipe book written so simply, yet so authentic. It portrays Hyderabadi cooking just as it is: dishes made with simple spices yet delicious & flavorful!

Tried and tested recipes
I bought this book in 1990's personally from the author in Arizona when we used to live there and knew author in person. I was young person and did not know cooking much. I learned so many recipes and used to follow the recipes from the book almost everyday and just gave my cookbook to my daughter day before yesterday I'm s o happy to see the book on Amazon recommends the book to everyone interested not just in Hyderabadi but other recipes from that region.

Delicious meals
While I may be biased due to the fact that my Great Grandmother created this wonderful cookbook, I know that the recipes it contains, as well as the ones my family make based on them are superb, and thus can highly recommend this book to anyone looking for simple and delicious meals for the family. Our family simply cooks at a level I find hard to match from others, and my friends have always agreed.

Great cookbook for beginners and experts
I received this cookbook as a gift some years ago, and it has served me well. It's a great resource for all those staple homecooked dishes from south asia, but also for less common variants and some Persion and Middle Eastern dishes that have seeped into our cuisine. For such a small book, it covers quite a bit of the cuisine. Many of the recipes are simple with the minimum of ingredients, and the directions are fine with only a few slip-ups here and there. On the whole a definite necessity in a desi kitchen.

Great Book! Must have for indian cooking!
I have owned this book for over 12 years and I constantly refer to it. The dishes are very easy to make and the instructions make the steps very clear. My favorite parts of the book are as follows:- All ingredients are transalted into english, so I know what to buy at the grocery store- All similar items (e.g., snacks, lentils etc.) are grouped together- At the end there are suggested menu combinations. This makes planning a dinner very easy.I couldnt imagine cooking indian food without this book.
