AXA1 x solid frame lock.

The site says the lock measurements are 12x10x10 cm but they are meaningless numbers. Nothing on this lock is 12x10x10. The gap that goes over the wheel is 60mm wide. It does look well made, but I am returning it because it is to small.

I have one fitted on my own and one on my son's bike. It will never stop a determined thief but as it is not a chain, any thief will have to think about it a bit longer and this will turn off the opportunist with a bolt cutter accustomed to using their weaponry on chains. Useful for a quick nip into a shop and as an addition to a chain. Best function is really as a deterrent and to piss off a thief once they've cut through a standard chain etc.

Annoying sold without fixing kit. When you do buy the fixing kit, it's plastic straps, which defeats the strength of build. They need to sell this with a metal fixing kit included in the price.

East to fit great security outside the shop

I bought this lock for a couple of reasons. Firstly I thought it would save me having to carry a lock in my pannier bag and secondly, I thought it would make a nice little upgrade to my cheap cruiser style bike and stop me lusting after the dutch bikes that have these locks pre installed. Unfortunately I could not get the lock to fit at all.Be aware that the lock does not come with any sort of mounting kit at all. I thought I could get away with, as others have done, with a few cable ties to attach the lock to my seat stays. Unfortunately the shape of my bike doesn't allow me to fit the lock to my bike at all. The rear of my bike is long and curved, the brakes get in the way and the fenders on my bike are too wide. So for me, its 20 quid down the hole.Now that of course is my fault and you can't give a lock two stars for user error. Yeah but I am just not impressed with the lock anyway. The mechanism is fiddly, the key seems to stick all the time (which I found out when stubbornly trying to fit this thing no matter what) and it feels plasticky and cheap. It does not inspire confidence in any way. So if you don't have a dutch or roadster style bike with one on... I really wouldn't bother. just carry a D lock with you.

This lock is identical to the locks that Pashley put on their award winning bicycles and I wanted the original equipment on my Roadster Classic that comes standard on the Roadster Sovereign. It fit perfectly! Note, this lock doesn't come with the plastic fitting mounts that must be ordered separately.

Nice quality lock,unfortunately can't take the key off when it's unlocked.
