Vampire Academy

I have read all five books in the series and await the December release of book six. I think the Vampire Academy is as good if not better than Twilight.Rose, Lissa, Dimitri, Adrian, and Christian, are all wonderful, fasinating characters in this series. Each one has a depth that makes you happy to read about them.At first I thought the bond between Rose and Lissa would be boring and predictable, but it was anything but. The story is thrilling, interesting, and easy to follow along with as you read. At every page I was reluntant to put the books down. I just wanted to read 24 hours of the day and nothing else.This series should be made into a movie, or better yet a TV Series!I don't want to spoil the story line for you but Rose and Lissa are wonderful with their Shadow Kissed emotions and her comes Dimitri, and Adrian, Rose's love interests, both wonderful male characters with each having their own charm. I personnaly am team Adrian.Lissa soon finds her soul mate Christian but each romance is not without problems and they are not your ordinary run of the mill problems. The story is fresh and full of new idea's that has not been done over and over again.This series is a love story, thriller, action, comedy. and drama all in one. You will fall in love with this series, and as much as you will love reading it, when the last page is at your finger tips, you will be sad there is no more for you to read.I hope that book six is not the last of the series as I plan to buy every book this author puts out!

Im not very good with how to write a proper review but in terms of how i feel about the book - ITS GREAT! i absoulutely loved it. I liked twilight and so it opened the door to exploring more books for me and i found this amazing series. To me, im not trying diss twilight fans cos i am a fan myself but in twilight, i feel like its more about love and sappiness between bella and edward and saying corny things you really wont say in real life but its good to get way from the real world in twilight. Vampire Academy is more adventure and love and its hilarious. I love the main character Rose Hathaway, she is fierce, strong, beautiful, funny and at the same time very selfless and vulnerable. Another thing i love about this book is that its not ALL about Rose, its about her best friend Lissa too and the way Richelle Mead describes certain scenes - they are amazing! I highly recommend this book and series. Its packed with romance, adventure, action and humor and i truly dont know why they have not made this into a movie yet. Oh and make sure you get the 4th book too called Blood Promise. The fifth one - Sprit bound is gonna come out sometime in 2010 may i think but for now, read up on these:)

This is by far one of my favorite vampire series and I didn't even mind that it was young adult, that's how good they are. Rose is a character you can't help but love and don't even get me started on Dimitri... where can I find me one of those. I found myself completely rooting for these characters in every single book, and yes I did cry at some points I'm not even going to lie. But to me that's a sign of a good book, when it gets you so emotionally invested that you can't help but care. This is a series I have read over and over and I quickly purchased every book in the series and immediately devoured them, so be prepared to do the same. I definitely recommend this book, especially to any Twilight fans who are looking for something else to move onto.

I LOVE LOVE the Vampire Academy Collection. I was a big fan of the Twilight series and these books are way better, and feel a lot more "grown up" then the twilight books. The book's focus a lot more on the character development of the two friends, but also intertwines the loves interests in an interesting and intriguing way. The story pretty much hooks you in right away, and you can't wait to finish one book to start the next one, which starts up right where the previous one left off. The story is very well written and I can't wait to finish all the books and see how this story ends. I only purchased the first 3 books, so highly recommend buying the collection of books

First hand, I must say that this book is by far better than Twilight.No offense, I did enjoy reading that series and it is kina truethat it is because of Twilight that I started looking into those paranormal/urban legend fantasy books. And THIS is a wonderful find.I loved how the author developed the characters, slow but intense.I know that Rose (one of the main character) must have been the center hereand I did liked how strong and willing she was instead of being fragile and weak.In the first book, I hardly noticed that the story was based on Rose, it was allso well proportioned and as the book continued she never stoped to surprise mewith new characters and interesting insights.It made me want to read her other books which was "Succubus Series".And it was, if I may dare say, even better than VA in so many different ways. =)I am now addicted to this genre of books and am sure I will read many more like it, but Vampire Academy will remain at the top of my list forever !!I just can't wait till the 5th book realse next May.

The box set price is a great deal; I would not buy them individually. The storyline is a really nice variation from your "usual" vampire story. If you liked Twilight you will like Vampire Academy. Like Twilight, this series is categorized as "young adult," but really is written at 5th/6th grade reading level with PG-13 action/romance. Thus, it would be appropriate for pre-teens/teens. The characters in this series are more fully developed than those of Twilight, which I appreciate, but the first 5 books could have easily been condensed into 3.

To those of you who are caught up in the whole vampire craze as I am, this is a great addition. I enjoyed reading them.

These are the first 3 books of 5 (although I'm unsure if a 6th is planned). I found the storyline adds an interesting twist on the usual paranormal/sci-fi/fantasy type genre. I was hooked from the start finding the characters were well developed and very interesting. The Vampire Academy world is clearly described and I found myself quickly flipping pages to find out what happened next. An excellent read - can't wait for Spirit Bound, the fifth book, to come out!!
