Cardiology is a very difficult concept introduced in easy bite-size pieces
With a 5 year old that is excited about the human body and excelling beyond any age-appropriate book or video I could find, I was running out of ideas that would't either leave her frustrated with material that's over her head or putting a "pause" on her education in this topic. But she LOVES science and biology... in comes an educator friend of mine's recommendation of April Terrazas's science series. This literally was the next step for us and I'm buying every book she has published thus far. This book is excellent for a young child to understand the basic, yet complicated, concepts in science in an easy and simple way. I never thought I would find anything like this. It introduces the basic concepts and basic vocabulary that allows my 5 year old to build on each time we read.In the CARDIOLOGY book, it's AMAZING for a young child. This book covers the parts and functions of the heart, and is really focused on the vocabulary. While the vocabulary is extremely difficult for a preschooler, it still can be briefly covered by a young school age child, and get a little more in-depth each time you read it over several weeks or months. It's all very colorful and introduces complicated topics with simple concepts and vocabulary. Through of every one of her books there is a Q&A or review.

Helpful during a health crisis
My husband recently had a Quintuple Heart Bypass. Trying to explain heart disease and treatments he was going through to 7 grandchildren ages 10-3 was difficult without solid pictures and information. This book was fabulous in giving them appropriate information that was easy for them to understand.

Heart 101
Very simple and detailed. The illuatrations are color coordinated with the text which makes it easier to understand and follow. There are questions after each section (some are fill in the blank, others just answer under the question). This is basic introduction of the anatomy and function of the heart.I would recommend for children.

Definitely recommend!
Absolutely loved this book. It breaks down the heart in a very simple and understandable way. It’s perfect for school age children and even adults! I would even use this for teaching the heart anatomy to EMS or nursing students. Great buy!

Detailed, decent job at simplifying complex concepts, writing and graphics busy and distracting
I am NP who has worked in cardiology for 10+ years who also teaches it to patients, nurses, NPs, and PAs. My 8 yo son loves knowing exactly what is going on in the body. Overall, this book did a pretty good job simplifying the complex process of nerves, valves, and pumps of the heart. My suggestions - it would have been helpful to have a sample page from the inside of the book because I would have been able to know by one page that this wasn't what I was looking for ( I don't want to put a pic in because this is your material, but I do suggest it).. For us, the graphics and organization of the pages are a little too busy and I wanted something a little more detailed.
