TekswampTV Remote Control for JVC SP55M-C

This Tekswamp remote control saved us from having to buy a new TV!We have a JVC TV, model # SP55M-C, and our wonderful puppy chewed up the front of our original remote control, damaging the infrared transmitter, and rendering it absolutely useless!We searched high and low for a stock replacement for our original JVC remote control, model # RMT-JC02, but it was nowhere to be found, and the TV is only a few years old! There's NO controls on the TV itself, so nothing can be done without a remote control! We learned a valuable lesson from this.....the next time we buy a new TV, we're going to buy an EXTRA remote control right away (while they're still available!), and keep it in a safe place as a backup!This Tekswamp remote control worked great right out of the box.....no need to program it! There's a lot of buttons on it, and most of them don't seem to have a function for our particular TV, but we can do EVERYTHING that we need to do with the "active" buttons!The product details state that this remote control is 5-1/2 inches long, but it is actually 8-3/4 inches long.....oops.....not as compact as I expected, but not a problem.....it looks great, and the price is absolutely amazing!This Tekswamp remote control may be your last hope, so go for it.....you won't be disappointed! I bought it for a TV model mentioned in the ad but it did not work. When I went to use the return label, the place said the label did not show as being paid so I had to spend $12 to return it.

When I read the reviews, I huffed and hawed not believing there was no programming to be done. Well I received our replacement remote today and..... IT WORKS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX... how...? I am totally blown away, I even took the time to find a couple codes for our TV ahead of time, I didn't need them. It's such a relief to be able to pay just $20 for a new remote, and no headache of trying to program it to your TV.

They say that the remote is pre-programmed. NOT! And their customer service is horrible. Only through email (let that be a 'flag' for you). No phone support. When they finally did respond by email, it took several times/days, back and forth to no avail. Very frustrating!

Didn't control all the funtions i wanted

This remote we think works even better than the original remote that came with the television. It required no programming, it just worked the first and every time. We are very very pleased and happy with this purchase.A real dream for a person such as myself who isn't "techy" and just wants to move on and have everything work without the hassle of programming and fiddling.

We were given a TV but it had no remote. We found this one and it works great on our JVC TV. Would buy again if needing a TV remote.

I wrote an earlier review complaining that it stopped working but in reality I had not realized that my TV has its receiver in the lower left corner and a box was covering the tiny 1 inch slit. Actually works fine overall but you do have to press a little hard to make the OK button work. I guess a good value for the price. I had already purchased a JVC brand remote to replace this one but will keep that as a back up since my TV is old and I can already tell it’s going to be harder over time to replace the remote. I guess most people would just replace the whole TV these days LOL
