Erosion Control Extraordinaire!
As a retired erosion and sediment control professional, I've used and recommended Jute Netting for many mine-land reclamation, oilfield and commercial/residential development projects in the past to protect steep slopes from erosion and re-vegetate disturbed areas. This is the first time I've used the product for lawn establishment and maintenance and I am very satisfied so far with the results. The installation was relatively easy as the hardest part was digging the trench and driving in the staples in very rocky and clayey soils. I used the heavy duty 8 gauge, 6 inch staples knowing that my lawn soils had an excessive amount of rock. I actually followed the NRCS guide for jute netting installation in determining the proper staple spacing for my lawn which required less staples than recommended by Sandbaggy. Prior to laying down the jute netting, I prepared the area by scarifying the soil surface, spreading a thin veneer of topsoil (about 1 inch deep), fertilizing, seeding (bermudagrass and annual ryegrass) and raking in the seed. After 2 weeks and plenty of watering, you can see from the attached photograph that I am already getting some good germination of annual ryegrass. I expect more germination of the bermudagrass once we get some warmer weather. In the meantime and with plenty of severe thunderstorms recently, the area where the jute netting was installed is perfectly stabilized from erosion!I did purchase 2 rolls (4' x 225') of the jute netting and used about 1 1/4 rolls for my project, so I will be using the rest on another area where stormwater and erosion is an issue. No doubt, the jute netting is expensive, so unless you have a real problem area that needs repaired, there are probably other cheaper alternatives (e.g., straw mulch). However, in my case I've tried other methods to get a lawn established and failed, so the use of jute netting was certainly a cheaper alternative than purchasing and laying sod.Update: Almost 3 months after installing the Jute Netting the local armadillos discovered my project area. They tore up and rooted right through the netting with great efficiency (see photo). So the moral of the story is the Jute netting works great but consider other options if you have armadillos in your area. They can't be stopped unless you take extreme measures, which at times is my only alternative to preserve my lawn, landscaping and ornamental plantings in these parts of the Ozarks in northern Arkansas.

It has held down erosion on 4 areas on my land
I live on some land where a couple of hillsides intersect and have used the Sandbaggy Jute 3 times with the fourth roll just delivered. The first time was three years ago when I had a 250 foot driveway cut into and around the side of a hill. The first rain the erosion was terrable and I had to have it repaired so I was desperate for something. I found the jute netting and tried it and CORRECTLY INSTALLED (meaning a 6" deep trench to put the top edge in and pack it to anchor it) AND IT WORKED. Note we put two strips overlapping a couple inched below the road and one strip above the road. I planted local variety grass and watered fir daily for a month (the water bill was 6 times the normal but it was all part of the necessary things you have to do).I also used it around my pond edge and it's worked for two years there. The third time I cut into the hill again to create a building site and used it, now we're expanding that for a parking area and of course will use the Sandbaggy Jute net there to control erosion until vegetation covers the slopes.I should say that my slopes are about 30 degrees, if someone had a steeper slope, something like 45 degree slope, I'm not sure how it would work. But I can say that for what it fies, it's worth the price

Works great, doesn't go far at all.
This is a very expensive option. If it were more affordable I could use another 6 or 8 rolls but at this price that's difficult to justify. So far it's holding up well and performs as advertised

Good price; on-time delivery, good quality product
Jute netting is not easily available in our area (metro Boston) and usually requires a special order from a distributor at a hefty markup. This vendor had the product available in a reasonable time frame that was the same or better than waiting for special delivery from a distributor for pick-up from their depot vs. delivery to door.Product is good quality, heavy grade and would recommend.

Good erosion control
Works very well to keep grass seed from being washed away on a hill. Use spikes.

Crap
I bought this for a job I had and ended up not needing it. The seller accepted my return request but then denied to take it back over 75$ in shipping. Cost me $800 for something I can’t use. Just bad business.

This stuff is heavy duty.
This stuff is made well and should hold up once grind cover is planted to prevent erosion. This is way better than the stuff you get at the local hardware stores.

Shipping by UPS
Manufacturer shipped immediately but UPS took over a week to get to me . Granted CA is a long haul from PA but UPS kept promising and missing dates. Product is as advertised and easy to install.
